Hardwick finally got his club

They (Richmond) got their man. He (Hardwick) got his club of choice.

March said on sen that it was clear that Hardwick had a passion for their club's job and, if so, it would've also been evident to the North selection panel.

Everything's worked out for the best!

Good luck to the Tigers, and better luck to North of course :thumbsu:

Wouldnt worry about it Dean, the posters on this board only 2 weeks ago where all jumping on the Hardwick bandwagon, now he cant coach :thumbsu:

In relation to a leak, who gives a rats, if there seriously was a leak it would of happened Sunday not Tuesday.

That's would have happened, not would of happened.

And it's were all jumping, not where.

Before infesting our board and calling people muppets, get yourself an education, Sesame St boy.

Can you please point out the posts here on the North Board (not the MB or Bay 13 trolls) where North posters are making that assertion? Further, if you can point to those posts, can you make sure you also point me to the posters' previous comments about Hardwick's greatness?

But how can we be sure that they didn't also pass on Hardwick because they were afraid he would reject them for the Richmond job?

That didn't happen. The interviewing committee were very impressed with Hardwick. However, Scott simply blew him out of the water with his interview. It was absolutely a merit based decision. All this fear of rejection talk is crap.

I can't believe those Richmond nobs.
I am not saying Hardwick is good or bad, but FFS, I would never bother logging on to a Richmond board to tell them that. For them to come here and engage in this argument is puzzling.

It's natural, given that we are very happy with Brad Scott being appointed, that we'll regard Hardwick as less preferred option. So what? Stop coming over here if you don't like it.

do you honestly think someone from richmond leaked this??
What do you think happens after both hardwick and hinkley were told?? Would they not inform their current clubs being the cats and hawks??
Do you not think its plausible that someone from the cats or hawks leaked the info??

Caroline Wilson was given the story by Gary March. Everyone on the face of the earth knows it, apart from you.

Alternatively they could avoid the education and this board, otherwise known as the 'p*ss off mandate'. I prefer this option personally.

March summed it up beautifully. He said it was really tough choosing between the two because they were both sooooo goood.

Then he said it was really easy picking Hardwick because he was soooo gooood.

Hope that clarifies it all for you, TT. It might also partly explain why Richmond have been travelling sooooo well for the past 20 years or soooo.

I find it hilarious how all you blokes were talking him up just 2-3 weeks ago saying how great he was and how you all want him but now because he's at Richmond he's the next Mark Harvey. Even have to go to the main board to talk him down, bitter, very bitter.

I thought either Brad Scott or Hardwick would've been good a fit for North, rather than Longmire and any other potential candidates. I would've been happy with either as they both have good qualities.

The board chose Brad Scott over Hardwick, because he didn't seem as hungry. The subsequent reportings over "him rejecting North" or "Hardwick being disgruntled about not meeting Brayshaw" were ridiculous.
The journos have no idea, the sub-committee recommended their preferred candidate in Scott, then Brayshaw met him and signed off, and somehow that is turned into us picking him for fear of rejection and/or we didn't give him a fair go. Ridiculous.

Hardwick will probably be good for Richmond, but there's a lot of work ahead of him. I did lose respect for him when I heard that he didn't take that North wanted Scott over him all that well, bit of sour grapes for mine if that report is true. But I think he may be what Richmond needs.

Likewise.

Newsflash, Richmond posters - this is the North board.

No matter how much you dislike what is being said, if you can't post in a respectful manner, you'll get carded. It's that simple.

I reckon the smart money would be on avoiding threads like this altogether.

(Saying that, I do kinda like the little "zzzt" noise they make when they hit the fluorescent light.)

Harwick will make a good coach. I thought either Scott or Hardwick would've been a good fit for North, but Scott seems more determined and has a better understanding of high performance facilities coming from collingwood and brisbane, which we will soon have, so its probably a better fit for us.

But having said that, Hardwick should be very good for Richmond, he will bring the hardness and standards needed at your club. Hope both clubs can get back up in the finals soon.

Nah, I just don't want to get into a back and forth with you guys and get carded. Just thought I would note I thought it was pretty funny when I read this board a few weeks ago that most people were talking up Hardwick, saying he was the best man for the job.... now that he's at Richmond you have to talk him down wherever you can. :)
To be honest most of us probably thought he was the better candidate before we appointed Scott. But that was because we hadn't heard much of Brad Scott and what he'd done so we just automatically thought Hardwick would be better. Now that Scott's coach we know a bit more about him and we've been certainly impressed. But at the end of the day we don't know how good they're gonna be as coaches. We'll just have to wait and see.

Nobody is bitter about Richmond. In fact some of my best friends are mad Richmond supporters.
What we are bitter about is Cowro and it's bias towards Richmond in contrast to it's constant carping of our club.

He spoke well in the press confrence and good luck to him :thumbsu:
and Hope he has put not getting the north job behind him.

cant wait to see the Scott V Hardwick show Next year.

For the record, I've been saying for months that we don't need any more pus faced Essendon ranga short people around the joint.

Enjoy getting bent over a board table by mal Brown 'Dimma'.

(BTW - what a truly floggish nickname)

I must be the odd one out here because I did not find Hardwick impressive at all.
He sounded to me like another Wallace "spin doctor" - most of what he said was a regurgitation of what we have heard from all who have coached the club before him.
Spin galore. Particularly when he said that Richmond has the best culture in the AFL-- please pull the other leg Hardwick.

Of course I will have to wait and see what results he produces on the field, same as with our new man, but after having heard "Dimma's" press conference yesterday, having never heard him speak before, I must say it only re-inforced my delight and satisfaction that Scott is our man.

Dimma was just what I expected any new coach to be - saying all the right things about what they will do and full of predictable quotes. Good luck to him. Hard to judge much at all from any media conference like that - proof of the pudding is in the eating.

Feels good to get it off the chest, doesn't it, mate?

Even if it's factually incorrect, but that's irrelevant imo. :thumbsu:

Huh?

When did John Longmire get our coaching job offered to him? Never happened, was never even informally interviewed for it.

Man, can you be anymore wrong? I doubt it. Your a fool/Tool.
