He didn't need one. He's got a sports science background which is better. He did a batcholor in Sports Science a few years ago when he was playing for Brisbane.
He's a tough talker as well. So I expect him to be pretty tough with his players.
He won't be allowed to read any of the comments made on here any more....

Just thinking out loud here, but perhaps Hardwick senses that if he sticks around with the Hawks for long enough the senior coaching job may wind up being his.

I tried to find out from him, but he didn't even know until today when he had another interview.Aw gee, and you didn't tell us!!...maybe because you didn't know!!
Usually he tells me every bit of info that he gets. He told me that he had another interview at 10:30am this morning with NM.
He had his mobile but probably wasn't allowed to ring or text any of us.
I know I didn't receive a text until now. Just got one now from him.
Telling me that he got the job.

According to Brayshaw, they liked his sports science background, and quote;

Just goes to show you how much the media gurus knew!! They were so certain Hardwick was going to be the next coach.. So much for their expertise!! They know nothing!! They are now saying that Hardwick SHOULD get the job at Richmond, (poor b.gg..r) but that HInkley was also in the running..Let's see how much they are guessing this time!!

I know we all want him to stay at the hawks but I would be disappointed if he wasn't offered the tigers job (only because it's the only one left, not because I think it's the best job for him) as he seems to geniunely want to coach but for some reason seems to be pipped at the post on each occasion.
Wonder what it is that just doesn't get him over the line.

Possibly the qualifications. I know for a fact that Ken Hinkley has coached his own team before.
Dimma hasn't coached his own team before as in going back to the local leagues and coaching one of those teams.
But never the less he will probably get the tigers one.
