who is interested in buying a harness horse in a syndicate.. hopefully i can get this syndicate up and running by early next year.. but there are alot of factors to consider here.. its not just money for the horse and thats it.. it is the upkeep of it and everything like that.. trainer.. vet bills.. but i am very keen to get a horse and i know other people are just as keen as me and want to get into harness racing but dont know how.. i sort of have a trainer/driver lined up in ian mcmahon.. i will need to talk to him about buying one first because if he is training/driving it then he will want to inspect. but i have sort of a layout of what can happen but if anyone is interested at all tell me..

Im always interested, currently looking at claiming one & racing in Brisbane.
As brian said, check the Punting Board horse thread.

Are you talking about starting from scratch with a yearling?

yeah i spose cos you can pick up a good bargain there.. i will work out a trainer and everything cos i think ive got ian mcmahon lined up... but we will see what happens

Thought I'd rehash this thread to see if theres any new interest on the board?

APG sale got the better of me & am the proud owner of a colt.Goes to the breakers next week,Vicbred,APG & Breeders Crown eligible.

So if you are genuinely interested in racing one from scratch, let me know.
Up to 1/3 available so if you wanna come along for the ride, heres your chance.

What do you say barney?

Seth.

PM me some details too, I might not be able to get involved as i'm renovating the house and buying new cars etc at the moment, but if it is cheap i may be able to swing something.

Seth check your pm's, i've listed my phone so give us a call and we'll chat.
Wife has in principle approved my involvement, just got to get exact entry figures and ongoings, and also any fine print which will be important should we unearth another elsu. ;)

Oi, yeah i always keep the missus involved in everything, in the end i make the decisions but she's in there 50-50 all the way with input....otherwise...well i dont like being in no dog box you know what i mean.!
But I spose all of the above is thrown out the window if you're married to a lunatic. ;)

Horse was picked up at Geelong trots by trainer.
Breaking in to commence midweek.

Handled his 1st trip to races beautifully for an unbroken colt.

Seth

Quick update

Colt is now broken in & about to go for his 1st well deserved spell.
Trainer says he handled it well but is looking for the paddock

Likely to have 3 months to grow into his frame & hopefully be ready for the early 2007 2yo races????
Thats the plan anyway,fingers crossed!

Will give him every chance but he's Vicbred,B crown & AP Gold eligible so theres plenty of 3yo$$$$ if he takes a little time.

To the boys who've expressed an interest,I'll be in touch soon.

Seth

When a horse is broken in it's another way of saying he has been taught to be sensible and disciplined and not a brumby kicking and bucking all over the shop. Unbroken sort of means he hasn't been taught anything yet, in this case the horse getting broken in means he's being taught to accept the cart, all the gear, pace, that sort of thing.

:)

He's 3yo and can run a sub 58 last half. Sub 28 last qtr. Jeez imagine that, advertised on bigfooty and all, and i was the only bite (on that occasion).;)

so you own a percentage of him then?
