The guy who people have been rating very highly this year, is he the one eligble to be drafted to geelong through father and son?

Yes it is.

Just a quick question for APS fans from a Geelong fan, is Hawkins at all athletic and have scope or is he just dominating because of his size and football smarts.

Can he run and jump or is he another in the King, Ottens, lumbering type.

Reading your descriptions on here he sounds like he is tall and already well built which does not bode well for his AFL future. I look forward to some balanced replies as it appears to swing widly from MGS people to non MGS people.

Also for the MGS people will he be playing VSFL now the season is over and for whom?

Hawkins isnt that fast but he jumps about 205 cm for high jump so his vertical leap is pretty good.
obviously following in the footsteps of jumping jack.

Playing CHF for Sandy Dragons this weekend.

he is rather agile for a big guy he is good off the ground and for his size moves at a respectable pace their is no doubt he will be going to the afl

to set it straight last year at aps open high jump he jumped 1.80 with no training. a good effort in itself.
His leap is massive and should jump over 1.90 this year i predict 1.93 to come top 3 at aps

nice , might have to come out of retirement just to knock him back a few places ! but still 2.05 geeze make it at least sounds believable! ;)

hawkins cannot run. does not have the complete game to be an AFL star, having said that he is a unit, has a nice grab and a good methodical set shot

Thats not right mate. He will develop into an impressive foward whos game isn't all that different to the developed Nathan Ablet. I'm sure that Bomber has been aware of him for a few years now and will be licking his lips.

he can jump, and reads the play very well.
Saw him in the APS game, dominated in the ruck JUMPING OVER the opposition ruckman, good hands, will be a very good player in the future

just curious, if hawkins was to be selected in the 2006 draft, which from what ive heard is pretty likely, does anyone know if he has decided to finish school?? sts travel to mgs for footy exchange next year and would be interested to know if he would be playing. was awesome to play against him and xav ellis this yr on our home turf, ellis taking the best hanger ive ever seen in my life!!!!

i reckon by the time hawkins gets drafted, geelong will be so ********ed off at ottens' terrible form that hawkins will nudge him out of the team

If the house athletics is any indication, hawk won the high jump, shot put and came top 5 in the 100
