List Mgmt. Hawk's List Management for 2025

Usually do one of these before the trade period but was caught-up with other stuff this year so here is my post-trade period update! This is what I have at the moment. As you can see, firstly the list is STACKED in terms of talent (which we already knew) but is also pretty close to being completely full as it is. If what I have is correct, then we have 36 primary list, 4 Cat A and 1 Cat B locked in for next year which leaves us with limited options in terms of drafting next month and SSP/MSD in 2025.

If I had to guess, I'd say we are likely to delist-then-rookie one or both of Gunston and/or Breust for flexibility. Regardless, we can only intake a max of 2 players to primary/Cat A list at the moment plus the option of another Cat B player if we want (which I suspect we will re-sign Bennetts with).

As usual, if you spot any mistakes then please let me know :)

We would be doing the Footy God's work in rescuing either of Zerrett or Petracca.

Zerrett had previously reached out to the club to sound out a potential move. Mind you this was a few years ago now, and he ultimately decided to remain loyal.

If anyone saw his interview on one of those talking head shows this week you'd have noticed how mature, articulate and considered he is. He's just a stand up individual.

The cost for either would be at least the equivalent of the Barrass deal though.
Correct me if I'm wrong but wasn''t he a Hawks fan growing up? We all know that kind've stuff doesn't matter once a player gets drafted to a club but history does show that there's evidence of players making a move to the club they grew up supporting when the opportunity arises.

Even if he was a Hawks fan I still can't see it happening especially after we fleeced them for Massimo 😂

2025 Pre-agents
Hawthorn:
Dylan Moore, Mitch Lewis, Jarman Impey, Ned Reeves

What is everyones feelings on our 2025 list of pre-agents? Moore and Impey are obviously guys we must re-sign and Lewis I would hope we offer him at least a 1 + 1 deal. The first year guaranteed with the second year a team option which I'm not 100% sure you're allowed to do in the AFL.

Reeves I'm not sure what to do as a) I wouldn't be surprised if another team offers him a more guaranteed role b) more money than we do.

Read a lot on comments on here saying it would take 3 first round pick, but would it if we got Reid to come out and say he wants to leave and it's to Hawthorn it wouldn't take 3.

Looks at Smith at Geelong
You’d still do 3, if our (Carlton’s) first this year is top 10 and then our 2 f1 are in the high teens / 20s after concessions then that’s a great deal.

That Matt Clarke idiot can look like a genius getting 3 first rounders. Just like with the barrass trade, they thought they won because we gave up our whole draft hand next year, when really we just traded 14 forward and swapped a 3rd for 4th (negligible).

Reeves 100% trade bait, would rather ramsden get ruck time in vfl and be no2

Easily. Because all of them are injury prone. Including Allen.
I find it quite disappointing how some have seemed to have forgotten just how good Lewis can be when he's fit. I've mentioned many times here that the main injury which was originally diagnosed as a sprained ACL I feel was the main culprit that lingered for 1-2 years before he eventually ruptured it.

If that knee is fully rehabbed and he's good to go then I reckon he's going to make a few around here remember just how good he is. Just like all the doubters that have bagged Mabs I've been taking receipts 😆

Seriously though if our medicos feel that his knee is structurally sound and he finishes of the season showing his past form then none of us should have no qualms if we offer him a multi year deal. Also worth noting that before his unfortunate injury run he was seen as one of the leaders of our young brigade. Allen or not I think we'd be foolish not to try and retain him.

Then I reckon Mitch Lewis is on trade table. I don’t see how Allen chol dear and Lewis all play in the same time. Great depth but those players aren’t hanging around to play at box hill.
I've been touting this for about 12 months.

Mitch Lewis out, as part of the Reid deal (prob to a diff club for a pick).
...and that was before I knew Allen was a realistic chance of coming to the club as a FA.
