Autopsy Hawks vs Port - rip it apart here

No far off my prediction of 50+ just before the game.

Glad we responded when challenged. No (serious) injuries.

Nice spread of goal kickers as well.

Solid win 7/10

Loved the physicality that the boys showed today, some good fair hits and hard tackles which I felt knocked off Ports momentum late in the second term/early third term. Second quarter was really poor and I'm glad they didn't repeat that effort after half time. Good spread of contributors for us also, no real standout high possession winner. I think that's something Clarko is after this year, create the unpredictability in our midfield by having a good even spread.

Was a bit of a danger game today, Port were in some good form and I think we held them out of the contest and hurt them the other way really well.

Good win. I think the great thing is a few of the lessor lights were keys. Smith, Simpkin was good I thought, Savage with 3 goals, Poppy has a real crack (as he always does) whilst Cheney serviceable.

Good win. Port have been in good form, so you take that win and move on to the dogs.

Damn it, show the f**king song!!
Couldn't actually send fox footy over to do the game and have to use that crap ch7.
Then bloody foxtel come back from the ads and ch7 commentators are speaking over the presentations and then cut it short and don't show the boys singing.

That was a nice solid win from the boys.

Hodge played really well after disappointing last week which was great to see.
Savage had a better game and deserves to keep his spot.
Roughead & Gunston both perfect up front. Forwardline looked better balaned without Franklin. (not suggesting we are a better team without him, he takes the best defender every week if nothing else but it suggests playing him up the ground more is an option)
Smith had one of his better games for the year which was nice to see.
Guerra & Cheney didn't impress me, I have Dureya ahead of both. Simpkin did some nice things but I'm still not convinced he is best 22. He's a good solid choice for the sub though.
Hale & Bailey I thought struggled a bit, neither did terribly much around the ground.

Overall I thought our midfield looked better balanced without Sewell. Not saying he deserves to be out of the team but his lack of pace has hurt us. On a similar note Lewis' form remains a bit of a concern. On the other hand Bruest did some really nice things playing through the midfield today and its great that we now have the option to rotate Rioli & him through there so that we can keep one of them up forward when the other is in the middle. Quality crummers at the feet of Hale & Roughead are essential!

Oh yeah, Hill looked a little flat footed at times could he be due for a rest next week? Would love to see Anderson and/or Langford get a game next week.

Why in the hell do they put McVeigh dickhead to interview players, omg there are some ripper commentators:rolleyes:pathetic, and btw Harley, get stuffed, WE WON in case you didn't know, you stooge..
Exactly. The very last person I want to hear 'special' comments from right now is Spike McVein unless the commentators happen to be discussing peptides.

Good solid win.

One thing we still have to work on is our defensive run. Just seem to be caught out on the break too many times.

By the way, who is this Lance Franklin guy everyone has been talking about...

Lost patients with Bailey, time to try Grimley as the second ruckman.
The Hale/Bailey combo isnt working and he constantly fails to have any significant impact on games which goes unoticed for most of the season because we are usually wining.
Offers very little and his tap work doesn't necessarily separate him from the rest either.
