Feeling bullish about next year. The natural progression of things would be a prelim imo. I could settle for that.
(As much as there is a "natural" progression of things in sport, life or the damn universe for that matter).
I'm not that fussed if we miss top 4, GF's can be won from 4th to 8th as we have seen, though top 4 is obviously preferred.
Injuries will be a factor, as they always are.

It's a completely different mindset for us next year. I'm hoping complacency doesn't creep in, but it happens to even the best teams - Hawthorn '09 is our recent example.
The only way complacency creeps in is if there was a broad level of contentment and satisfaction across the group for what was achieved the previous season. '09 was on the back of a premiership with a young group and some key injuries.

Not one player who played in that semi-final loss against Port or missed out on their opportunity to play would have that result sitting right with them. They'll be hungry - nothing surer.

Wasn’t that the threepeat with the peptides thing?

As a club, we can now make a case we are better than any team on paper.

No other club that made the finals were missing their most important forward (Lewis) and most influential mid (Day) and we should have been playing in a prelim.

We can win the premiership

We can win it. It's such a stupidly even season though so any major slip ups or injuries might cost us. We can't afford to start 0-5 again because the run we went on last year was the exception not the rule.

I know it's not the popular thing to say but we rode our momentum well last year and I doubt we get that kind of momentum behind us again. But, I also don't think we need it because we're a genuine top 6 list now too.

You add in Day, Frost, Barrass, Battle, Lewis and possibly a break out season Frenchie and that makes us better than last year. It's ours for the taking but there will be at least 5 other teams all hunting as hard.

Hopefully the girls can go all the way and really light the fire under the club for next year.

And played without a KPD (although Scrim has grown into a genuine CHB).

Lost by the width of a goal post from outside 50m.

Really should win 2025.

I reckon we keep most sides to <12 goals this season. Some to <5 goals.

Good thing your username didn’t involve Tuck - or maybe a bad thing ?

IMO a fully settled Nick Watson knowing that he belongs with an actual goal kicking routine is good enough to push this team to another 3-4 wins alone.

As a team I think the main thing that will be most noticeable is that our small wins from last season will turn into big wins which will allow us to rest / rotate players earlier in games once the victory is secured which hopefully will lead to less injuries.

Completely agree, the natural trajectory of Nick and Calsher is enough to improve our list regardless of the additions. I was more talking about players to come in to the 22 from the SF team.

For what it's worth the rational part of me can see Calsh having a bit of second year blues. If keys put more work into him and stop him leaping he might struggle until he either works through it or gets strong enough to compete (his genes should sort that out quick enough).

I think Nick should only get better and can honestly see him kicking 40+ next year. I think smalls with his workrate are harder to stop than talls. If he gets the supply he will tear multiple games apart next year.
