Game Day Hawks vs Saints - game day discussion

No reason not to play Lovell in the middle going forward for mine.
Apart from Sammy, no one knows how to find their way to the fall of the ball.
I'd play him the rest of the season and look to build our midfield of the future.

We had a tough game last week folks and St Kilda are trying to run us off our feet.

Have a little faith.

Howe has been good so no idea what people are taking about and O'Brien will kick two more I reckon ...

Thought we went forward really dumb that quarter. St Kilda cu the ball off and got a heap of rebound off half back. Not enough people working themselves into marking positions around half forward that quarter.

Shoey gets derided much around these parts, but the thing he's done really well in the last 10-15 games is play a real linking game as a forward. Goes high, floats around, contests in the air, and presents options. Think we miss that sort of player today.

Sicily has been solid, but is either too close to goal or too far up the ground, would like to see him working more between the two areas, especially against the wind.

Gotta give it to the Saints, they played a good half of footy.

When ever he played last year we looked much cleaner going forward.

This thread is embarrassing. People writing off O'Brien based on a half of football where he has been serviceable, has a goal to his name and when he has had possession has used it well. Plenty he can improve on but that'll come with confidence. He's already kicked the same amount of goals as Schoenmakers has this year. Sicily didn't exactly set the world on fire in round 1, the faith shown in him is really what has seen him become more confident and willing to back himself.

Still bombing into 50, when a few times having a bounce was the better option.
Fixed up the clearances a tad and despite it working once for a goal, I wish the 3rd man up was shelved.
Just leaves us -1 at the drop if it doesn't come off.
Mitchell 25, just taking the piss now.
Feels like we are handball happy but going 1:1 so not sure why.

O'brien should be able to position himself to take a mark, and then take the odd one......just saying.

Hawks look like they are running heavy and saints are capitalising on their slowness.

Hartung maybe able to run but his inabilty to want to tackle or stick a tackle is frustrating and I can't see him keeping his spot once Hill returns.

Whoever is playing on Gunners is doing a great job - haven't heard much of him at all. The whole forward line is just not functioning atm - no cohesion whatsoever

Haven't been a massive wrap on TOB before today but he's played his role and done okay.
Nothing glaring to chew his lunch over and did a few nice things. His front and centre for the goal was clever and he moved well.
