Lucas is a washed up old politician, barracks for West Adelaide (no offence to our Power/WA affiliates) and his big fat head has not been on the telly for quite a while - so what does a good politician do (this a tautology) - spread mistruths, innuendo, lies and bullshyte, knowing that he has the backing of the old boys media club and will be able to have the last word.

As some others have posted - what a pathetic excuse for an opposition.

I emailed Haysie after the SANFL's failed attempt to remove him:-

Dear Mark,

Like all members I've been watching recent events closely. I would just like to say that you retain my strong support and confidence in your handling of your position. .

Heard you on ABC 891 this morning. A great performance in selling the clubs message.

Keep up the great work.

Regards

It took him a while to respond, which was perfectly understandable, but he eventually sent a brief reply thanking me.

I'm a nobody in the scheme of things but I think these little gestures can make a person under pressure feel less like the whole world is weighing in on them. I would encourage anyone who likes what Haysman has brought to the table to send him an email along similar lines.

I'm not very well at the moment and probably won't make it to the footy on Sunday but I'm determined to get to the Members night and will make a point of shaking his hand. I hope Haysman gets a substantial show of support at some point during the night as I believe he has achieved a lot in his time at the club.

I emailed along the same lines last week. Sent the email late arvo and when I checked the next morning he'd replied at about 1am! You can't tell me this bloke isn't burning it at both ends for our Club! Like you, Toots, I'm a nobody but, without fail, Mark has replied to every email I've sent over the past 18 months (5, IIRC).

I can't make the info night, but I support a standing ovation. I agree- make it happen!:thumbsu:

Good idea Toots.

This bloke must know that Port Adelaide people, the real Port Adelaide people, the grass roots supporters (or nobodies as you are calling yourselves :p), are behind him and appreciate what he and his team are doing for our great football club.

She should have gone to rehab.

I'm fairly sure that was after rehab....

I may have my Amy Winehouse magic moments mixed up but I'm fairly sure that is her "recovered".

i took the time to email haysie today too. That guy has been amazing for us, and I truly hope he can continue and when we are a power again he can give a big **** you to everyone who doubted

Still feeling rather ill here over that Keith Thomas thing. I can see this giving me nightmares.

What next? Danny Jenkins as President? Oops sorry didn't mean to make you feel worse. :p

Seriously though the Haysie - out, Keith Thomas - in scenario would've been grounds for a riot.

It's really bugging you isn't it? And then Garry McIntosh and Nathan Bassett as Matty's assistants!

Come on Ford. It should rock any self respecting Port person to the core! Oh , it'd start as just Keith Thomas, but mark my words before we know it Hugo Collesante will modeling Port polo's in the Power Gear Shop catalogue!

May I ask, who the **** is Keith Thomas?

One of that batch of extremely annoying Norwood small men through the 1980s - Thomas, Neagle, McIntosh, Jenkins, Anderson, Francis on and on it went they were like a swarm of nanobots.

Thomas won the Jack Oatey Medal in the nightmare 1984 GF. If I saw that bloody mark he took against Brenton Owens once I saw it a million times.

They tormented us for about six years before Jack came back and restored order to the world again.

Played 300 games for Norwood and a couple of seasons at Fitzroy.

Cheers. I was 8 in 1984. I have successfully blotted out all memory of that GF.
