This comment seems loaded…. What’s the goss SpecialBruce?

Hearing whispers they are going to discuss their future. Just whispers, but as they say, where there is smoke….

But rumours like this always go around. Don’t know which has some truth to it or which is just BS but considering their junior program and lack thereof, it would make sense if they were to discuss things.

I'm of similar opinion to Shitkicker above (the ups & downs, etc.) although there was some talk on the South West board about a new team down there and Balmoral used to be in that league, so maybe .... who knows!

Limestone coast or Wimmera is my understanding.

The only reason they would leave is juniors. Why else would you consider leaving a league you will probably go undefeated again next year?

SMG moved to the WFNL for a greater challenge. They could have gone three in a row in the HDFNL if they had wanted; but I also recall players wanted to step up, otherwise some weren't returning.

Natimuk saints? they could be one to watch out for next season picking up a lot of young Wimmera talent
Starting from a long way back. Natimuk were the worst HDFNL side I've ever seen this year.

The Rams have certainty opened the cheque book which shows how much is wrong with Country footy. Pissing in kids pockets to tell them how good they are...

Billy Taylor on $1200/game. Saints Brennan, Clarke, Lupton, Harris all taking cash too.

They aren’t the only club throwing around money. Edenhope are targeting a bunch of average guys as well on big cash apparently

Jacob Eats as co-coach, key forward who played for SA Country this year also Lochie Eats who hasn't played much in recent years but played for the Murray South East in the SA carnival a few years back.

Good for KL to recruit players from the Tatiara rather than guys from Melbourne.

Paul Summers back to the Warriors for season 2025. Massive blow to the baggies probably the one player they couldn’t afford to lose. Along with Matt Healy to Pimp they are left with no key position forwards to kick any winning score.
expect them to fall well off the pace with this blow.

Noticed that now the grounds have been confirmed for all teams with more than one that all Saints home games will be played at Edenhope. Could this be the official end of the merger?

I think it was that way last year too i.e. no E/A games in Apsley in '24. Apsley have 2 Border Districts (KNT) games now I believe. I'd be curious to hear from a local as to where that leaves the merger.

Why is it this way?
Don't really know the real reason but it seems the Apsley people sided with Borders after the ground was upgraded. Politics that hasn't really been expressed publicly.
Would Edenhope survive on their own?
Yeah there's not too many Borders players from Apsley, mostly juniors from what I'm aware of.
However Edenhope won the 14s last year which was a great effort but they lacked 17s and had to forfeit games to just play scratch matches.
