Don't think any LVFL people will arrgue that our league is even close to HDFL. a couple of years ago things were a bit closer, at the top end anyway, but the last couple of years the HDFL clubs have gone on some massive spending sprees and blown the LVFL out of the water. Wouldn't surprise me if Mounts and Heathcotes entire match payments together equaled nearly all of the LVFL teams put together. Apart from Pyramd Hill and marong to a degree, no other clubs would spend anything close to the top clubs in HDFL.

Heathcote beat Mitiamo by 27 goals never again!!!!

Locky & White Hills,what i've been told
with only a few weeks till round 1. wat will the hdfl do to resolve the issue, at this stage it would seem that the only option at this stage is to abanden the juniors unless they can bring it up to under 18s but there isnt enough time i would think.

It would be interesting to know what the other sides numbers are, i know Heathcote have only got about 14 to 15 players.

Elmore should be fine I think ...

To all the clubs who votered against U17 going to U18 for this season hang your heads,Iam told their are only 2 clubs who have a full list,a big danger of no U17's playing this season:eek:

wouldn't u18 only fix it for 12 months an then of they go again , a little bit of a band aid ! Where are these youths who are to magically appear ?

So my gut feeling was right, knock back Broadford's push for under 18's and then once they're gone look into it :(

From conversations with most clubs over the past couple of years some of you appear to lose kids to neighbouring clubs with 18's so why not create an environment that would allow you to keep your kids and perhaps have good depth from within in times that the dollards aint so readily available.

It's so bloody hard to get em home once they go, and as I think Whitney Houston once said "I believe the children are out future"

Doona,it's a pitty other people from other clubs don't have the same thoughts on this matter as u.:thumbsu:
P/S how did B/ford go in the cricket G/Final

On the thirds thing. I think the teams that would have the most to lose is LBU, Elmore and Colbo. Most of the kids goto school in rochy and have mates that play under 16s and 18s there. If the HDFL changed to under 18s some of these kids would head into rochy with parents not wanting their kids playing agenst men. Ask anybody from these clubs and they will tell you that once a young kid leaves the club for rochy its hard to get them back (mainly Elmore).

I'm not saying it shouldnt be changed to under 18s, its something the league has to look at. Although the clubs also have to look at their systems, back when I was playing under 17s there was the old pie night and pizza nights and fun stuff like that. Train with the netballers etc. Make it a fun environment and hopefully the kids will want to stay.

It's the Same down our way they head to Bendigo or the perants not wanting their kids playing agenst men.Yes the league needs to address this issue now and not later or you can kiss good bye Junior football in this league.:(

And by the way i was reading the paper 2 day i see Mounts coach was sent off in their practice match does this mean he has been reported?????

Whitney Houston quotes???????

I agree Doona, Teach them well, and let them lead the way, its what I decided long ago.:D

Rochy is an attractive option for Elmore, LBU and Colbo juniors as it does give them 1 more year in the "juniors". The under 17's concept is pretty much limited to a few leagues, HDFL being one of them. Most competitions have under 16's and under 18's, which keeps them all at the same club at least until they finish school. Rochy do work hard to build their juniors and the coaching staff there has been pretty good for a long time.

With Hayes and Hill gone do you think James has the goal kicking in the bag, no contest? Any forward coming into the comp win it, maybe Murphy or Davies? I expect Waters to kick around 70 and Newth should be up there with a strong middle he can stay at home and hide behind the posts.

From a few reports coming out of mount pleasant Dutch Barry has been getting plenty of it across half forward so he could be right in the mix.

Just read on www.********************** that Phil Lobb has left K/Flat and is meeting Andy Grant and is set to join the bloods. Will be his third HDFL club. Things are starting to get interesting.
