Not 100% but I think the whole season is pushed back a fortnight

Yer the same length season 16 games and 2 byes each personally i would have kept the same schedule and just run with the grounds available. The situation is unlikely to change much in that 2 weeks and it would have given clubs a good cash injection early with likely big gates with the BFL late start. The other thing is clubs have started training accordingly to that time line and with some practice matches pencilled in it would be an inconvience too.

Yep tried to rescedule one today once news came thru and have lost the match at this stage.

Yeah its going to be difficult with some leagues going back & others not.
Where was the praccy match going to be played Doona? (just out of interest)
I assume you are training on the ground at Broady - how is it?

Ya not wrong, most comps start April 14 now. With SDCA cricket finals and annual our swap meet the club rarely ever gets the chance of a home praccy game so Im petty keen to host someone on April 14 for the boys sake who travel every pre-season.

Ground is good, in fact the Country Week boys said it's in better nick than Colbo at present :p so Alwin Neilson is doing a geat job for us. In all seriousness it wont matter much if we dont get every ground up by April.

can anyone confirm the possible return of danny irwin and nathan east to colbo for 2007. i heard from a colbo member last night that the club was in talks with the pair.

Yep heard the same, get on Colbo I say they were never gunna be down too long

No comfirmation at this stage old saint. Both are going to do a pre season and take it from there. Easty was at Colbo's first training run on the weekend.

on the down side for Colbo, it looks as though Rowan Warfe is taking up an assistant coach role at Serpentine.

Well he has trained with another club and told them that if he plays it will be with them believe he may have told colbo the same See what happens..............

I guess so, just goes to show you can never be sure of anything at this time of year. No ones a cert until they actually play a home and away game really.

East was a really good player for Colbo - and a great bloke off the field too.
Good luck to him in his comeback!
I Agree with old saint - aerobic fitness won't be a drama. Just hope the body hangs in there.

Trev Leach almost put East into retirement. Even mutter the words Trevor Leach around him and you'll hear him sh1t himself from 10 blocks away - But in saying that in his prime he was a GREAT player - be interesting to see if he can stay un-injured.

Blood hound - You talk loads of rubbish! I don't think anyone listens to a word you said and if what Curls said last night on the phone is true, i understand why you bad mouthed him.... I wouldn't speak too highly of guy who head-butted me either, but he assures me you well and truley deserved and from reading your dribble, It's safe to say you would have deserved it.

Have been told mecuri has signed with kangaroo flat and they are close to talking brown into staying. Flat are doing the ring around currently and have cash to spend and if mecuri is true have a draw card. Has anyone else heard the same.

I had heard a 3rd former AFL player but no name, Mark Mercuri would be a huge drawcard, he went well at Airport West when he played in 2006 I believe.

Only heard it last night but talking to a bloke who played with flat last year and they said they will match any offer he gets from other clubs and he was only a depth player with flat. He has had some offers from hdfl and lvfl but is talking of staying. they also dropped browns name saying he was coming back.
