Sonny had the rags on with one Royden Hearn that day, who had been going around sniping blokes half his size. His aggression was only toward the one bloke and admittedly didn't look great but the bloke continued on with the game.

Royden Hearn would not snipe anyone. He may belt someone but it will be to their face and they will have deserved it. Great fella is big Roy

Doona, can you confirm that one Damien Slater was spotted at Hammond res on saturday in the hoppers camp and could infact be making a return to the M J Morgan oval in the coming weeks!!!!!

The Tibbinator hears rumours!!!

Great rumour Tibbinator, but sorry can't help you out on this one. I thought he was in a coaching role up in the Ovens & Murray? Maybe he is returning for a 5 year, 4 year or 3 year flag reunion!!!

Whilst on rumours Tibbinator, can shed any light on the rumour of big Nick Fraser returning prior to the June deadline?

Roota, don't want to get into another slanging match really but one incident happened right in front of me to a little bloke called 'stinky' Ring and I can also tell you at the time that the captain of the side witnessed the same incident and give Roy a little lovetap for it, which is completely out of character for that man.

I wish some of these blokes would "COP " it sweat and for these blokes on the boundry line they would not make very good DETECTIVE'S would they Red White & Black:thumbsu: :)
You have clean bowled me on that one Big Ump, I noticed your hair appears to be still falling out on Saturday though. Ever heard of the term Yeah Yeah or noticed how Brent Guerra's hair grew back magically?? Can look up the number if you wish.

Interesting to see Matt Pascoe among the goal scorers for Goulburn Valley's Interleage side on the weekend. Sure would be handy in a Navy blue jumper at the moment

And no doubt you blokes are working on it :D

I see that Adam Dalton took 2 weeks for an incident in the Marby reserves game on Saturday.

Doona, you still haven't answered my question. Are you the Big Ump 2?

Sorry mate dont think I saw your question. Are you referring that I go under Big UMP also? If thats your question then No . . . . but if you;re referring to my new found summer past time then yes.

If I dont go under my given names I only go under one other and thats Doona . . . . . sorry if thats not the answer you were chasing

I wasn't referring to the name as such, more the past time standing out in the sun. Was that the great man J Hadfield I saw umpiring the Provincial Final at Kings Park earlier in the year? Bendigo wouldn't know what struck them with old 1,2,3 your out umpiring.

Well if you want to start throwing stones what about a bloke called buntas!! Now he would easily be the biggest coward i have ever seen in the heathcote league. Makes big Royden look like an angel, and were your eyes painted on that day?

I seem to remember some years back in the NEFL umpires having to get a police escort off the field at locky, and who cares if sonny or matt martin had cheap shots at each other, there both as bad as each other!

good point, matt martins history doesnt do him any favours.

how many weeks did he recieve for kicking a player in the murray league a couple of years ago ?

matt martin was best on the ground for the whole game for both teams. someone try and correct me if you want but it is a fact. farva was statistician for the game and he had 22 kicks, 10 marks,8 handballs and 6 tackles for the game. he was amazing and possibly his best game in cats colours. nat obrien also had a lot of it but his possessions were more out in the open where as matty really worked for his. wish we had done hard ball gets. sam "grug" newth was also very good. sonny middleton should be ashamed of himself. he is a dog. this is the second disgraceful action farva has witnessed and the 2nd time nothing has been done about it. 1stly he when in the 3rds, he kicked an lbu player in the head several times while he was being held down, and on satdy the cheap shot from behind on matt martin and the follow up eye gouge. i had a great view of the incident and let me tell you judds supposed eye gouge was a love tap compared to this. the umpire was two metres away and if nothing is done lbu should complain. and he might think he is tough but evryone at the game now knows he is a girl, after picking a fight with steve martin and being put on his arse he then literally ran 5metres away. it was amusing.
apart from that heathcote played very well and it was a great game to watch(untill the last 10mins;) ) my beliefs were comfirmed about featherstone being a very lazy, overated footballer. saints had a lot of in and under no fuss players that won them the game in the last. lbu looked very good and considering the players that were missing from the team will only improve and be a real finals chance if they remain injury free. twos also played well and were unlucky to lose. chais richards, luke gunn and andy maddison were best and will push for senior selection this week. nesko will also tell you that he played well but he was shit;)

Well i'm not sure if i was seeing things but i think for a 17-18 year old, featherstone is doing more than enough to show that he is already a very good footballer with the potential to become exceptional. History shows it takes young, tall key-position players alot longer to adjust to any type of senior football but it appears that lech is more than holding his own in what is probably the toughest position on the ground (CHF) accompanied with time in another tough position for young players, the Ruck.
As for the rest of the game, "Ned Kelly' Newth brought his own sherrin to barrack reserve and was sensational as was martin (17), while suffolk looked as though he would catch everything that came his way early and kick a big bag until he became well held and the Heathcote on-ball division and midfield began to exert more pressure on their LBU opponents when they had the ball going forward.
I guess a good sign for heathcote was that there were probably no standouts which seems to be the trend for them this year as they look to play good team footy. also good to see waters get some form in the last quarter when the saints moved the ball on quickly.

Not painted on that day and still not painted on. Been around the league long Gareth because that is a huge, huge statement.

I have a youngster that plays junior footy at Huntly and a nicer group of people you would not wish to meet. In my humble opinion I believe the under 17 age group has a lot to do with clubs losing local talent hence leading to poor performances at senior levels. I have seen year after year young players in the 17s playing some senior footy only to move to the BFL U18 comp the next year. It only takes one kid with a bit of ability to move to the u18 comp and he'll take four or five mates with him. I doubt that very many at all return to their old club the following year. Change the age group to u18's and you would probably see some dramatic improvements to all the clubs in the comp as it would give the lighter built kids an extra year to fill out before they mixed it up with men. Thoughts anyone???

Fantom:thumbsu::thumbsu:

PS "Bore it up em Hillies"

I believe this has been brought up every year for the past seven or so at the conclusion of each football season, but several clubs are flat out against any such change. I heard when LBU entered the comp, they were entering because their juniors could play under 17's, instead of going from 14's to 18's. And I also know that over the years one of the Huntly administrators to the League, continually talked down the chage in the age limit and felt that the under 17's limit was to high. Also on this topic, when I attended HDFL meetings, the League was informed that the VCFL would have to ratify any change to the limit and they wouldn't as a change would affect the BFL.

It's time that the VCFL made stipulations on age limits through the state and made an across the board ruling on underage competitions limits. If largers centres such as Bendigo, Shepparton, Geelong and the Latrobe Valley have too many players for the competition level, then clubs instead of running under 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 16 and then either 17 or 18, could run two or more teams in each age section.

Just my opinion and it's probabaly wrong, but it could also be a solution.

So you were one of those tossers on the wing nesko yelling out and abusing sonny all game steve was lucky sonny did the smart thing and didn't fire up or else it would of been an early ending for steve.Sonny is one of the hard at the ball players in the league.

Well heathcote won the game and sonny can do what ever he wants off the field and who goes to pugs anyway unless you are over 40?

I was between the 2 coaches box and was looking right at that contest off the ball because it looked like Suffolk grabed his knee in pain. The people on the wing you are refering to were actually Rochy boys.

He didnt goto pugs just fell through into it.

Suffolk should've have been holding his mouth not his knee. If he shut his mouth he probably wouldn't be a bad player.
