OK I have come asking advice and I know Bathurst is on so not expecting immediate responses.
I have been test driving this week to get a new car.
I am 5 foot so looking for an auto hatch. Need auto and nothing bigger than a 2.0L engine. I have a lead foot and just don't need the power. Ideally I am looking for something I can fit my bike in but might not be realistic.
Last 2 cars have been 2002 Laser hatches the first one I bought new in 2002 and the second was second hand. The range of options and technology in new cars sa bit overwhelming tbh.
So far tested a VW Golf and quite liked it. Hated the indicators and wipers on the opposite side and kept setting off the wipers. Have heard bad things about servicing costs and reliability.
Next I tested was Corolla Hybrid hatch. I quite liked this one and loved that it switches over to electric automatically and charges as you drive it. I am 53 so this is likely to be the last car I buy. I like the reliability and this model is quite nice looking and not boxy ay all
Then I went to Mazda and tried a CX30. I loved all the safety features and in front display. My concern over this one is parking and manoeuvring given it sits a bit higher than what I currently drive and is this going to stress me.
Am going to test a Hyundai I30 Tuesday arvo.
I am after any advice please and happy to answer your questions. My budget is $40 to $45k and I prefer to buy new. I don't really have the time or energy to dick around with second hand cars.
Thank you
