So...

There is an article on the Herald Sun/news.com website about KB defending his decision to not give Griffen any votes in the RS in 2005.

Whilst I think Deledio was a worthy winner (and Griffen a worthy second-place getter), the fact that this snivelling tossbag still defends his decision urks me.

The fact that every other judge had Deledio and Griffen in their top 2 just shows how blatantly wrong his votes were.

I don't believe that he simply 'got it wrong' though, I think he deliberately gave Griffen no votes to ensure that Deledio (from KB's beloved Tigers) won the RS - displaying KB's questionable ethics.

Any wonder that the rules of the game are so often called into question when we have this maggot on the rules committee. Disgusted.

definitely griff in the pictures

i think it's pretty commonly accepted that KB rigged the voting, but what can you do ey? Griff dawg's played in finals and prelims and will play in more before his career is over whereas Lids will probably finish 9th again this season

i'm not bothered

Bias Voting that's all it is wanted Richmond to actually win something

I'm not fussed Griffs a better all round player than Lids anyway

Irrelevant in the scheme of things.. Has a bulldog ever won the rising star (can't recall).

I'm surprised KB didn't bring up his hungry selfish 1980 grand final performance

Meh...You only have to spend 5 minutes listening to his show to realise that KB is a such a troll that it would surprise nobody if he had a BigFooty account.

Come to think of it I can think of a couple of Bf Tiger supporters that fit the bill.

The RS only exists to give whoever happens to be sponsoring it at the time added exposure. Its a meaningless made-up award, kinda like the 'Kevin Bartlett medal' for finishing 5th in Richmonds best and fairest each year.

KB's the most irrelevant person in the football media. He's an idiot.

Its clear now that Griffen and Buddy were the best 2 that year !! I know the picks didnt fall that way, but wouldnt it have been great somehow if we picked the both of them up that draft ! We Probably would have won 2 flags !

Don't think too hard about it, but if the Hawks weren't given a priority pick, it would have been Rich (Delidio), Dogs (Griff), Richmond (Tambling), Dogs (Roughead/Franklin/Williams). Interesting to have seen what the choice would have been and how history may have changed...

Bartlett has "Fonzie Syndrome" - the inability to admit he was wrong.

Expecting him to admit that he was biased to ensure Delidio won is hoping for a lot....

And it was brought up due to Griff's outstanding recent form and the fact that KB was clearly wrong in his assessment...

Would we have drafted Griffen with pick 2? Roughead had huuuuuuuuuge wraps in that draft

For what it's worth, the article has voting buttons and Griffen is winning 57.6%

I think half the reason for that is because people don't like KB :p

Been having this discussion for 3years with all my Tiger mates -Griff is a far better footballer any coach in the comp would take him first Del can't get a kick when his tagged that's why they play him half back out boy gets tagged and picks up 40 no more discussions griff is the better footballer

KB got it wrong by not giving any votes to Griffen but from memory Deledio did have a very good first year and the vast majority of people, including punters thought Deledio had it in the bag. Had KB given Deledio 4 votes and Griffen 5 which would have been fair, Griffen still would not have won the medal - I think that's correct - I should probably just read the article.

KB is a stubborn, bitter old man. Could just admit he was wrong and move on, but no just digs in.
I'm sure the Tigers are happy with Lids and Griffen is the heart and soul of our club so fair to say we're pretty happy too.
I'm not sure what is gained from continually comparing the two.
