Hes not just wrong, hes a cheat. No panel members knew each others exact votes until they are revealed and counted. He wanted Deledio to win, and knowing that Griffen was his nearest rival, he gave Deledio 5 and Griffen 0, even though every other voter had Griffen 4 or 5.

This many years on, nobody gives a shit about the RS award itself - the way he voted only serves to remind everyone he is dishonest and this article is a reminder of that, more than a comparison of the two players.

Just remind yourselves that Kevin Bartlett is the same guy that is the face of the interchange cap. As Darren Jolly said, the guy is out of touch with the modern game and has been for a while

KB is a stubborn, bitter old man. Could just admit he was wrong and move on, but no just digs in.

But the rising star award isn't for who turns out to be the best player it's for which youngster/rookie has the best season. KB got it wrong, I know that - but if he didn't think he was wrong at the time why would he have to say he got it wrong now? Just because Griffen has gone to be a great player doesn't change his rising star season.

he gave Deledio 5 and Griffen 0, even though every other voter had Griffen 4 or 5.

Even if he had of given Griffen 5 and Deledio 4 as would have been fair Griffen still would not have won the award.

I get it. KB ignored Griffen completely, maybe because he's a cheat but it didn't change the result.

I repeat. KB's vote didn't matter in deciding the winner unless he gave Deledio no votes which would have been more insane than giving Griffen no votes.

I was talking about initially. It was obvious he was wrong to all and sundry, but he just dug in and continues to. Frankly, it just reinforces the view that he is a bitter, out of touch old man. The sad part he didn't even put in the qualifier that Griff has developed into a very good player.

No it didn't, but the fact that he didn't give Griffen a vote means he has no idea. Griffen and Deledio were clearly the best two players. He should really be sacked from the voting if he isn't already.

I don't think I've ever seen a more clear 1 and 2 in the rising stars nomination. How KB didn't notice that either reflects him being out of touch, not paying any attention to the Dogs, cheating or a combination of all three.

It isn't a matter of whether or not Griffen deserved to win - he didn't, Deledio by far did - but it was that KB obviously thought that his nearest challenger was Griffen, and didn't award him anything. This is depsite Griffen being a clear number 2. And of course, KB wouldn't know other's votes when he did his, so he didn't know how close Griffen was to beating him - which defeats the whole purpose of the award in being unbiased.

Does anyone actually care what KB says or thinks?

I don't know much about KB except he was a doggie supporter growing up and sat in the cheer squad. However he seems to enjoy putting the boots into us at any opportunity - anyone know what is behind this?

I know many on here talk about Richmond as being the team they love to beat, but as I have always known them as the team that is always shite, I don't know the reasons behind this - anyone care to share some of our history?

Nathan Brown and Terry Wallace were my reasons, don't care as much any more.

I'm really hoping Griff keeps up his form and gets an AA this year and a lot of it bases around the Griffen- Deledio debate.
