Matey i would love to be as positive as you,but its like a friend of mine said the other day..........He said man i don't know what Collinmgwood team you have been watching but it's not the same one as 2010-2011.

He said same players but they are not playing anything like their 2010-2011 selves.
Pendlebury has not been the same since he came back from that back injury,Thomas is nursing and has been playing from a foot injury which has plauged him since the carlton game........Swan is not his usual self.Jolly is cooked or will be when he faces Nic NAT AND COX.

Pyscologically the death of Macarthy could act as a negative factor to some players that were close to him.
I am hoping they galvanize, but who knows. Our only poistives are the return to form of Cloke and what a comeback from Krakouer,he definately has earnt a contract extension.

If our midfield can fire we win if not seeya 2012......These are the cold hard facts, nio second chances from here on in.

5-6 weeks straight with relative few injuries to key players. That's something to build on, we should be just hitting top physical form this week hopefully

That's obvious, however we have finished top 4 for a reason. No doubt we are good enough if a few players can find form.

Well yes and no,Pendlebury and Thomas i know are definately can only play at 80% capacity. Both are injured that's why their form has dropped and in tough finals the injuries become exposed........This is my worry

Sorry to be a downer guys, but the boys are cooked for the year.

JMac's passing will more than likely sap them of spirit. Would be pretty devastating to lose a best mate, and then have to try and get up mentally for a final.

All depends how it's handled Shpesh.

If one of your mates died, how would you play?

I'd be busting my arse like never before to honour our friendship and his life.

It's now all looking like a terrible accident rather than anything else, which I think will help them deal with it a WHOLE LOT better.

Huge psychological difference between the two.

Look out Eagles, we're coming to get ya!!

Go boys, play hard and smart and with cool heads, but go out there and bust their ****en arses!!!

Personally, if one of my bes mates died, I doubt I'd even want to play football.

I'd be wanting to be alone or grieving for a while.

Given the players for a lot of the year have already looked liked they couldn't be bothered, I can only imagine how it wil be Saturday.

Look don't worry guys i suppose 80% of it in finals is between the ears.

It dfepends on how they are thinking. If a mate dies you realise its an accident when you play a game of footy your resilliance and go for it factor could lift dramatically. it could be the lift the players need.

I know if a mate of mine passsed away,i would be devastated, but by the same token i would be thinking gee my mate died, all i have to do is play hard footy that's is nothing compared to losing your life.

We may turn this game on it's head, and do to the Eagles what Freo did to Geelong.

Go pies!

Ive had a bit of experience with this, an under 19's game against Glenelg, they lost 2 team mates in car crash the week we played them, it was all over the news, papers etc, camera crews were there for the game. We were equal top with them, and absolutely belted them. It took a huge toll on the players. Im hoping it doesnt have that effect Saturday night but can understand if it did.

The hope is that the boys realise how precious and short life can be and start going out there and play like they realise how short life is.

So when they sit there like they have been most of the year and think "God I can't be bothered", they should remember that life could be much worse.

Whatever the result I am hoping all the Pies fans out there turn up in force.

We need to fill the MCG and show the Eagles what a hostile crowd is. The Eagles home games lead the way in intimidation & hostility. Its time for the Magpie army to stand up and flex their muscle.

I don't know if its just me, but I have felt the crowd support at our games has been a bit subdued this year perhaps reflecting our performances. If we don't have a win we can at least scream our guts out & give it to the Eagles :).

The Brisbane team that beat us in 2003 was far more injured than we now. Just shows how much of the game is played above the shoulders. We have had our late season slump, with recent games showing incremental improvements. We are still every chance of making the grand final

You know what, I was positive last week and even was still a couple of days later, but Shpeshal Ed is right; the boys are cooked. We may win this week, but next week we won't again a rested Swans outfit. It's been fun this year guys, but I ain't feeling it anymore.

You'll start feeling it again if we come out, "click", play the best footy we have this season and smash those WEagles! Hey... it could happen. Seriously though I'll be there supporting but don't know what to expect after the loss of JMac and Malthouse joining the enemy. Been a big week.

Pies have been largely written off...
Which is great.
Beat Wet Toast and we face our bunnies.
Then what?

Nothing would possibly be more satisfying than to take on the Hawks in a GF, a serve them up a double helping of their own brand of unsociable footy...even if the whole side gets a month off next season.

I'm looking at the glass, and i'm sorry to say to to to me it looks half empty, hope i'm wrong.

I haven't agreed with you on much lately but sadly on this I'm with you. We haven't "clicked" all year and I can't see anything changing this week. Of course as they say, anything can happen in footy but the vibe just isn't there this year. My heart is all hope but my head says nope!

Been a massive week for the boys, i wont be overly upset if we lose.

Hey lads just heard that both Beams and Thomas only ran laps and both under injury clouds for tommorows game.Either one or both may miss.Who comes in?
