This thread is only dedicated to bets involving the Western Bulldogs.

Here are some great bets i have did research on and worth a punt on for you and myself if you have cash to play with.

Our best brownlow chances in 08 in my opinion.

Player Name --------- To win Brownlow ----------To place (Finish top 5)

Scott West -------------- $51.00 --------------------- $13.50

Brad Johnson ------------ $71.00 --------------------- $18.50

Danial Cross --------------$81.00 --------------------- $21.00

Adam Cooney ------------ $101.00 ------------------- $26.00

Ryan Griffen ------------- $201.00 -------------------- $51.00

Jason Akermanis --------- $301.00 -------------------- $63.50

Robert Murphy ----------- $401.00 -------------------- $101.00

All player bets highlighted in bold are good value bets in my opinion.

Adam Cooney
Now our best bet and chance here is Adam Cooney. He is a very very good player when he comes to play. He catches the eye of the umpires with his hair and great skills, He also catches the ears of the umpires with the sound of COOOOOOOOOON that we all yell out when he gets near the footy.
He is in possibly career best form because he is now a mature midfielder that can kick both sides of his body. He has had the pre season of his life and is stronger and fitter than he has ever been.
My man is Cooney i have placed $5 on him for the win but will do like wise again but both ways.:thumbsu:

Robert Murphy
Our second player is Murphy he has silky smooth skills and alot of our play goes through him so he will be a focal point this season. He is a smooth criminal with his kicking ability and clean hands.
His status will rise from good player to AFL elite so that means his price in the brownlow will follow so get on him for a place now.
At $101 to finish top 5 that is great odds to be honest. :thumbsu:

Jason Akermanis
He is one of the forgotten men in football. I doubt he has the ability to go all out in a game and be Aker of old and produce miracles to poll brownlow votes. At $63.50 for a place that is great value considering he is very fit and very hungry this season to prove his critics wrong.

Griffen and Cross
Both extremely valuable to our team and both are hard workers. They are great players to have in any team but i have realized both players don't poll well in the eyes of the umpires so i wouldn't bother putting money on them but at those odds of $21.00 and $51.00 to place its worth putting a 5ver.

West and Johnson
Both champions of the club and Super Stars of the competition. They have both proven them selfs in front of umpires and have polled great over the years in the brownlow.
I hate to say this but i honestly think West in the brownlow is finished he wont be polling to many votes this season and beyond due to his age and the fact he wont be playing midfield all game but instead be rested on occasions.
Johnson will play a major role this season in the forward line and in the middle but i doubt he will poll 15+ brownlow votes anymore with the young players coming through the ranks for us stealing his votes.
At $18.50 though for a place that is good money but i wouldn't recommend it.

I will have other bets coming up shortly.

Here is a multi bet that is good money as well to be honest.

Dogs to have 48+ premiership points by season end is paying $2.30

Dogs to make top eight is paying $2.30

I did a multi and it was paying $5.29 if both happen which they will because i am certain we will win 12 games plus in 08. We have the coach, Players and supporters backing that up. We won 9 games last season and drew once and that was apparently a bad season.

If you are willing to tell me we cant win 3 more games on top of last year then you are not believers.

So the bet is dogs to win 12 games + and make finals. Odds are $5.29 worth a $100 bet i reckon :thumbsu:

Here is another multi.

Same as the first with the dogs to make finals and have 48+ premiership points.
But if you add Adam Cooney to win the brownlow those three bets together is paying a whopping $534.29 that is surely worth a $5 bet i say :thumbsu:

Cmon guys lets hear your bets ???????

I'm surprised they let you put them together in a multi, as they are pretty co-dependant results...
...but anyway....good luck to you! :thumbsu:

Obviously it's almost impossible to predict games off the bat...but there's only 7 games that I 'expect' to lose...
...obviously we could sneak one or two of those, and equally as obviously we'll drop 2-3 of the others...

...but yeah, I agree, a 12 win season looks very gettable...which you would assume would get us in the 8.

Now i don't know if i can make these bets but they let me on the internet so im not to sure to be honest.

they will let u put them together and quote u the price, but once u actually try to put money on them, it wont allow it.

for eg, u put $10 on dogs to win flag at 35-1 into dogs to make 8 at 2-1, combining the odds to 70-1 to win the flag...... it will allow u to get the bet on the screen, but u cant actually make the bet, otherwise the bookies would be going broke.

same as u cant have a multi on a player to win the coleman and the brownlow, one bet is influencing the other

except that Plugga is the only FF to win the brownlow. I reckon putting money on any bloke, even JBrown to win BOTH brownlow and coleman would give great odds.

I love people that clearly lie - this bet is not possible, will not be held by the TAB.

The only way you can place this is to "assume" the first leg will win and use your own cash to place what the multi would then have on the second leg....

Therfore to "win" $429 on two $2.30 pops that conclude at the same time you would need to invest significantly more than your $100....

You simply can not have a multi that has legs dependent on each other - ie - if the Doggies make the eight their price for 48 points will not be $2.30....one bet is dependant on the other. They are too close.

Good luck though.

Not to sound rude or anything mate but read the post under yours.

Anyone know what Lindsay Gilbee's brownlow odds are ?

$126 but i don't think he is capable of winning the actual brownlow.

Also mods fan we have this thread up as a sticky for when matches start we have all odds available and we can add all our bets etc here ?

one bet that i found was Brad Johnson to win the coleman @ $51-1, now im not saying he will win it, but we all know that he can kick alot of goals. So a $5-$10 bet on that could be worth a shot.

Scott Welsh is @ $41-1

Can we only have recommendations from people after they have actually laid on the bet.

Those multis were obviously not possible.

I'm 99.5% sure that you can't even put 2 teams to make the finals together, let alone betting on the same team to basically do the same thing.

Last Friday i laid bets on the following (unsure if you can still get these odds):
Cooney for the brownlow, paying $126 (centrebet).
The dogs to make the final 8, paying $3.00 (sportingbet).

I checked around and they were comfortably the best odds i could find for each of those bets. Anytime you are looking to lay footy bets, especially longer term ones, it is worth checking out multiple bookies to make sure you are getting decent odds.

Make it 100% mate, you're right, can't be done.....

and having mates who can find great odds for you.

I got on Cooney at $101 (TAB) due to not being able to make centrebet transaction in time and Dogs to make final 8 at $3 (same bet as Pembles).

Last time I checked Coon had dropped to $81 at centrebet but he was still $101 elsewhere.

We were still paying $3 at sportingbet to make the final 8.
