Haven't I seen this somewhere before?
Might have to get the voting underway quickly so this will qualify as not being worn in a game and nothing to do with heritage of the club concerned.

This was being discussed on another forum on this site

Sorry, but I don't think that your jumper fits into the guidelines of the contest as it is an official jumper of the Essendon Football Club replacing the larger sash jumper.

However it is another example of a "Heritage" jumper that has never been worn before. Actually the grey has never been worn by the Bombers before so it goes further than the Brisbane jumper. At least it included parts of jumpers that were worn before.

Didn't Britannia wear this?

Unknown as nothing really exists about Britannia.
Even if it did, the fact this is North Melbourne means it qualifies as not being a previous North Melbourne guernsey :thumbsu:

They were one of the clubs who played at Victoria Park before Collingwood.
They wore hoops, not stripes, with their Red sash.
They were a VJFL side, which is the precursor to the VAFA.
Mostly they were regarded as a feeder club to Fitzroy, who were the big club in the region.
They tried to join the VFA as Collingwood-Britannia in 1889 but were thought to be too disorganised.
In 1892 Collingwood was formed, and some members of Britannia joined them.
Most, however, joined Fitzroy, including the treasurer and the committee, as well as most members and players. The club had few assets, the most valuable was apparently their bell, which also went to Fitzroy.
Many years later the bell was donated to Collingwood FC.

If you don't feel you have enough entries, keep it open.
I might do a couple more, not at the moment though as I'm at work.

Am bored at work so spent some time doing this. (Easy to get bored when you work for an educational organisation and it's school holiday time)

This was merely poking fun at Eddie's infamous statement about Collingwood always wearing black with white stripes. (Most likely he was misquoted, he said "black AND white stripes".) Instead of a white canvas laceup with black stripes, we now have a black canvas guernsey with white stripes. There are now stumpy stripes on the back due to the black patches on the shoulders (emulating what the Pies have now on the Adidas guernseys). And it's capped off by using the number style from 1981-83, requiring a widened number panel. All in all, it comes out as not-real heritage guernsey.
(The blue laces are a dead giveaway)

What image did you use for that?
The Collingwood lace-up on the site looks like this:

The one you're using looks like it's from 5 years ago when I was still learning to use Illustrator.
Or have you just inverted the colours?
It's well conceived, but it comes out truly horrible.

I used the 1903 Promotional jumper (the game in Sydney which was the first with numbers).
And yeah I just did negative image - because it's been resized, the colours are gradated at the edges. Still gets across what I was trying to do though. :)

Well, I fixed the 1903 graphic because it wasn't good enough.
Must have slipped through when I re-did all the graphics a little while back.

Trouble is, you've actually created a heritage strip that WAS used for real.
They have never worn this these are the originals I have just mixed them
Richmond wore this one from 1889 to the mid 1890s:

Mero's often discussed how despite RFC having their mistake pointed out to them, they went with the funnel jumper anyway.
Here's yours for comparison:

While the back is different, you've pretty much modernised the front.
