Hird, Charter and the Feds. Why have the media not touched this?

We can only get a take on what we hear and it's all damning for Essendon. Not all of it can be wrong and I'd suggest Robinson had most things right otherwise he wouldn't risk everything thing on national TV. It's suggests you are in trouble. Delusional Essendon supporters believe what they want to believe and block their ears and go "la la la" to everything else. We can take w hat you all say seriously.

What you hear is from people who have an agenda! Be it selling papers or getting hits on their respective websites, they ALL have a vested interest in making you FEEL pissed off enough to continue to follow 'every twist and turn' in this story. The truth is irrelevant, as is the presumption of innocence when there's money to be made and bonuses to be achieved.

Think about this...

The two MAJOR 'TELL ALL' interviews that people claim are damning are both ex-employees of the EFC that feel hard done by and HAVE MASSIVE CHIPS ON THEIR SHOULDERS!! Of course they're going to be objective and fair minded.

Following this are two opinion journalists who continually get on their moral high horses and attempt to convince the general population that we should all think and feel like the both of them, despite neither of them EVER being involved with the game at ANY level. One is Wilson, who has it out for Hird and Evans due to the Beverly Knight incident, and Patrick Smith who's an ex-Essendon supporter who has had it in for us since the Thompson incident.

The rest are just clamouring over each other for scraps and anything that may have been missed, no matter how irrelevant (see Mark Stevens, John Ralph etc), in an effort to justify their jobs.

How clouded do you think this issue has become?

I say again, and you call us delusional?!

It's pretty funny that as more and more pieces fall into place, the flogs in here continue to look for grey areas they can twist in a negative light.

After watching that interview last night, I am more confident than ever.

Robinson has destroyed all credibility with his lies last night.

What lies

The bit about there being no intention of injecting players will illegal drugs. How he never at any time said Hird aurthorised illegal drugs. How he questioned what Dank was doing and no longer trusted him.

Were they lies? Or only the bits that made your tinpot god look like a git?

The "Tell All" interviews when people said that there was no intention to give players banned drugs. And you scream your hate just becouse they do not bow down before Hird. Really these interviews told bugger all of importance, only womens day gossip.

Which is only the details of what Ziggy meant meant he talked about Type A people that nobody dared question. But we are delusional becouse we consider this gossip which puts some foilage on the bare tree of the Ziggy report may have some truth to it.

You mean the Ziggy report where he saw no evidence of anything that contravened ASADA? Or do you not like that part, so you conveniently leave it out?

Thanks for proving my point.

Proving your point? Wtf are you on. You realise don't you that I was pointing out that the "Tell All" interviews also said that there was no intent to breach WADA rules. That your dislike of their content relates only to how they portray Hird. When in fact they are good for Essendons case.

And you think this proves your point, whatever this is. And that I conveniently left out the fact that Ziggy's report did not find evidance of contravening ASADA. Which by the way was never the aim of the Ziggy report, it was never going to comment on it, just the governance at Essendon.

I am not surprised at EFC Fans not responding to facts.

The lack of rational discussion from the Bombers fans on the use of I.V. drips by 22 Essendon players (a SPECIFIED prohibited method under M2).

The only excuse so far is that maybe they removed one ml from the smallest drip bag before they administered the substance(<1ml I assume). Of course that removal of 1 ml or administration of <50ml would have to be documented to satisfy WADA/ASADA.

The substance is enough for the ACC to pass the cases onto the medical regulator as I am sure the administration of "vitamins" via iv drip wouldn't interest them!

Lesson for today. Never post on your GT-I9300t as it makes you look like a idiot :p

Firstly the Ziggy report was focused on governance and the brake down of systems with your club, regards to a operational/management stand point. The reference to drugs from that report was stark when he actually wrote the phrase " A culture of Experimentation".

So I would not hold to the hope you did not contravene ASADA based solely on the Ziggy report that Essendon paid for :p

I believe is was " a pharmacological experimental environment", ie a disreputable practice, one that brings the club into disrepute and the AFL may consider enough to have brought the game into disrepute.

How could Essendon argue against that finding if this is what their punishment is based on, WADA.ASADA need not come into it.

Hird might sue Ziggy for representing the facts.

It could be a landmark case.

Robinson was painting a picture whereby Hird and Dank have established a mutual connection with Shane Charter.

In a court of law, Robinson's testimony would be struck from the record and the jury told to disregard his comments. Even the most hateful Essendon abuser knows this deep down inside. But to your point, even Charter himself has come out and stated that his relationship with Hird was fleeting and incidental. Hird apart from one moment in time, had no further contact with Charter until the curious coincidence of him being at the same Hotel the Bombers were staying at on the Gold Coast, pre-season 2012. It is quite clear that Dank arranged the opportune meeting with Hird and Hird subsequently had no more to do with the guy. Again, a point corroborated by Charter himself. If you are trying to claim that Hirds incidental relationship with Charter is reason for him to be sanctioned then half the AFL playing list who like to hang with gangsters and night club owners would be in dire straits.

I get the big picture perfectly well thank you. You on the other hand for some bitter motivation are trying to turn incidental and trivial moments into matters of National Security. You are selective with your use of information (rumours) and refuse to acknowledge what is actually fact. Sure its fun having a poke at an opposition player/club/coach - I get that. But gee, take some time to put together an argument that at least holds up and not merely a repetition of rumours you picked up around the water cooler from your work mates!!!

Why would it be?

Disgruntled employees are allowed to be whistleblowers

Rubbish.

Bitter motivation?

I don't ever dance on opposition graves, don't care for it.

I was merely pointing out that Essendon fans are forever offended at half truths circulating about James Hird, yet are perfectly content to indulge in the exercise.

Like it or not...

Dean Robinson never said that Hirds house was raided, he said that Hird told him that his house was raided.

Yes, let's hold up Shane Charter as far more of a reliable character than Dean Robinson, at least when it suits your argument.

How incredibly condescending a reply.

In spite of Dons fans like you, I truly hope the players escape sanctions and it's the club that cops it's fair whack.

Oh c'mon now, stop being reasonable!

Robinson is the Patsy, evidence shows Hird knew what his players were getting and Hird directly interacted with Dank & potentially Charters (one meeting?)

Charters profited from sales, Danks took it to Metabolic & got some nice $ from invoices consultant fees

Only one persons job depended on the fitness of others. Robinson did not profit, his job dependent on keeping it within WADA.

He was fooled just as Hird was.

But Robinson had to go or people would point fingers at Hird.

Read the post brother - wasn't holding Carter up to being anything. Simply quoting him. Not selectively using his comments to better my argument. Unlike Robinson, I don't believe Carter has been paid to comment, nor is he an aggrieved ex employee. Just stating the facts, read into what you like.

Yeah I'm not that concerned about Collingwood getting into trouble either. Apart from the fact we'd already know about it, I would of thought MM would be about the last coach in the AFL to accept a program similar to that at Essendon. Same with Buttifant from what I've heard.

Also, Collingwood doesn't fit into the profile of the kind of club that would cheat. We've been consistently making finals for the last decade so there would have a) been a lot of confidence around the place that existing practices were working and b) the football staff weren't under the pressure to succeed that a big club that had spent a significant period out of the 8 would have been under.

Finally, I've got a lot of faith in the CFC and the people running the organization, I think they're about as professional as it comes in Australian sport and for that reason I'm sure that they'd never risk the future of the club for some crazy drug experiment that none of them knew anything about. I'm still truly amazed at what has happened down at Essendon given the size of the club and the people they have running it. There should be a complete overhaul of the whole club when this scandal finishes imo.

I have to agree with that. And to the OP saying that Charters story and links aren't being pursued because it could involve too many other clubs - well the obvious thing that makes that unlikely is that the ACC were the ones to uncover the EFC scandal and they would have no incentive to not investigate every possible avenue of this drug scandal.
