Keeping up with the Hirdashians fans are turning on Little for trying to repair relationships with the AFL. David Evans MKII. It beggars belief that 1 man is driving a whole club into the ground because of his immortal standing amongst some fans.

Turning on little is stupid in my view.

He's a ruthless prick that will do whatever it takes (yeah I know) to get the job done. In this instance his job is to get Essendon back on track, let the dust settle and mend bridges.

Hird supporters need to take note that this would be the second president in less than a year that Hird would be at odds with. Evans was on the side of the players, and working with the afl to protect them.

Little is now trying to rebuild a broken club. He came out like a battle axe at the end of last year when siding with Hird and looked really stupid as he had to back down (reasons unknown).

What is good for Hird seems to be very different to what is good for efc. That's a pretty big deal.

No way Essendon will want this to continue any longer than it has to.
No way they'll want their brand dragged through the mud again this year, and Paul Little and the board need to decide if keeping Hird on is in the best interests of the club. Just can't see it happening, even after what Matthew Lloyd said over the weekend.

There could (guess on my part) a clause in Hird contract that might state the contract is null and void If ASADA issue any infraction notices to players or coaching personal.

He didn't choose do do this, instead, chose a $1 million 12 month sabbatical. You do understand that was his choice, don't you. As part of the agreement he needed to zip his lips.

Excellent set of questions. Inevitably the inside of the boardroom looks different toy he outside and I think Little's original plan may have needed a decision.

It's a good point - he was given a pretty big reward as a punishment. If part of that agreement was to keep quiet then he should either give back the cash/scholarship in order to rant properly, or keep his tean's collective head down and enjoy the year away from the spotlight.

This pr activity is really such a slimy way to have a say.

I do wonder if it's all happening now due to Hird receiving show cause. Timing is everything. It's either that or Hanke thinks it's a good idea to hijack the headlines at the start off the season.

As creepy as Hanke is I think he's also intelligent (but very slimy). I think he would have a pretty clear strategy on the timing of all this.

Hird had a bunch of lawyers advising him when he signed the papers. I find it very difficult to believe them all now (especially Burnside) when they cry foul: "Poor Jimmy was bullied". The lawyers were paid to advise Hird on getting the best outcome he could possibly negotiate. They all had their chance. It's too late now to cry poor Jimmy.

Read the AFL charge sheet. That is a reasonable summary of virtually all the information anyone on this board has at their disposal.

Virtually every negotiated outcome that has ever been concluded binds all parties to confidentiality. It is a long standing convention. And it is not only "poor Jimmy" who is bound by confidentiality, the AFL is also bound.

So your question could easily be turned around to ask: "Why is the AFL bound to secrecy? What has Jimmy got to hide?"

If he has done just 1% of what the charge sheet says that is instant dismissal. Why did they agree on a paid trip to France rather than sacking him?

Surely the Essendon supporters love fest for Hird would quickly diminish if they just announced what he did, then send him on his way?
