Research Historical results/ladders - Dump them here

Came across this in my travels for a project I'm working on currently. We often see lopsided scores in women's competitions, but this is truly demoralising. I actually thought it was an error at first, but given all the opposition scores differ wildly each week, I am led to believe it's legitimate.

As a precursor – not that I think that this board would do any of the sort – but please don't direct any criticism towards this team, the league, or women's football in general. I am merely pointing this out as a statistical curio.

It is almost certainly the worst performing season in history by a senior Australian rules football club. In the 2023 AFL Broken Hill Women's competition, West Broken Hill finished the season with a record of 0–13 from 14 games, with 1 forfeit. Their total 'points for' for the season was... 1. Their 'points against' was 1277. This yielded a percentage of 0.08%, again almost certainly another record.

Their results per round is below. The Round 12 result is a forfeit, with the default score (0–60) given.

I really can't see this being beaten by any senior team in the future.
I wonder who scored the point.

Can anyone tell me when the Weekly Times started putting the country ladders each week into its newspaper. I know they have had them for a while (at least back to the 1990s when I worked in a newsagency), but did they include them in the 1970s or 1980s?

Hopefully some learned footy ladder buff can help me with my query.

Have just recently finished researching and uploading the entire history of the Mid North Women's Football Competition, based in Crystal Brook, South Australia.

Thank goodness for the league's Facebook page – it was the keeper of essentially 90% of the historical scores, uploaded through weekly posts over the years (the administrators were/are fairly lax with PlayHQ, SportingPulse etc.)

Couple that with the reliance on referring to teams by their nicknames or abbreviations (it took me a decent while to work out who "Sollys" [Solomontown] were in the earlier years, especially as there is no men's comp equivalent), and the strange omission of posting scores from most Grand Final days – just images of the winners – and this was quite the task.

But I managed to fill the gaps through club FB pages, a rare newspaper report or two, and even watching back a live stream of the 2023 GF.

It's nice to have these pioneering women's comps, especially the more rural and remote ones, archived for all to see.
