Hocking Incident

Yeah Hocking will unfortunately probably go for 3 weeks. Dumb act off the ball.

Slats to carry out Hocking's role for the next 3.

I duck in anticipation, but seriously, Slatts is a frekkin awesome small forward stopper - his inclusion would be a plus.

Stupid act, will cop 3 with a hopeful chance of early plea to 2. Last thing we needed with a tough game next week against an in form Tigers. If Jobe doesn't get up will hurt us twice as much.

Hope Jimmy shreds him over the pointless act.

These tiger midfielders have something else coming if they thing a massively injured Freo is the extent of opposition.

They better get used to falling back - our press should break them.

Unlike trengove hocking who has been in the system longer should have an existing good record. This should see him get 25% reduction. If he accepts then he will get further % off. I'd say it would be assessed at a bit over 300pts but he can get it down to about 150. This would mean one week and 50 carry over points etc

Player concussed behind play. The mrp won't make the mistake they did with Campbell brown.
It was dumb and disgusting act, and Heath has let his team and supporters down, as he is integral part of the team.
I hope the coaching staff let him know, that is not how we go about it at essendon

Gerard Whatley on Insiders did an estimate of the likely penalty -

425 points which equates to 4 weeks which will be reduced to 2 weeks with clean skin discounts/early plea

less than I would give him, nice one Heath...

in his favour - player moved into his path, good record.

not so much - left the ground, elbow, head high, concussion to Polkinghorne, behind play.

im guessing 3-4, good record reduction to 2-3, early plea 1-2.

would have been handy to have on Martin.
Good test of depth though
Welsh back in?

Reckon Whateley's spot on.

Reality is he has 3 weeks off thanks to the bye.

Quite similair to the Campbell Brown incident.

I think if he takes the Guilty plea he will get 2 weeks which won't be as bad as it really should be.

Silly, and thuggish by hocking.

Was stupid and pointless. I think he's our unsung hero this year, has tagged some very good players out of the game. We're gunna miss him big time.

if its classed as intentional, contact to the head and high impact its 8demerit points or 550points... he wont get discounts to down to 2 weeks from there will he ?

not that im 100% on how this system works or is anyone i guess...

EDIT: if he gets 25% early plea, and another 25% good record it would make it 309.75 or 3weeks ?
everyone will be up in arms if he gets less than Trengove i think too...

I'm not certain it's high impact. Definitely medium but it wasn't a massive whack

If the Trengove incident taught us anything it is that what happens to the player on the receiving end of the indiscretion has a large impact on the level the impact is graded.

Trengove's tackle was ruled high impact as Dangerfield was concussed and subbed off and similarly, Polkinghorne was subbed off because of Hocking's stupid elbow which would indicate that its likely to be graded as high impact too.

Its not looking good for Hocking :(

Complete boneheaded thing to do...
Not that one person should make a difference, but put ontop of this the injury to hurley possibly watson, we will be without our 2 main hard ball getters and our best shutdown player...
HH you have cost yourself and the team more then just the penatly you will receive....
