The one thing that has always frustrated me about Hodge is his willingness to let everyone know he has taken a hit.
So many other champions take the hit, dust themselves off and attack the next contest.
Hodge will cop a hit and hang his head, limp, check himself for blood.

One thing I do know for a fact:
If Luke Hodge plays all 22 games in the midfield this year he will win the Brownlow Medal, most likely in a canter.
I don't think we've seen the best of Hodge yet.

There are very few players in the league these days who are capable of winning a game almost singlehandedly off their own boot, but Hodge is one of them.
No doubt he makes a great defender, but he's at his very best when playing out of the center square. If the Hawks defense can hold together this year without Hodge's support (a big if) and he is free to play all his footy in the midfield then it's going to be an AWESOME year for Hawthorn.
Hodge's footskills are sublimely silky in the extreme. He's one of my absolute favorite players to watch.
