It's probably best you don't think
There is no need for that. If you disagree, that's fine, but in my opinion, Goddard could quite realistically be played around half forward. So, if you think it's best that I don't think, then what other issues do you have regarding my opinion that about fourteen Collingwood players would make St.Kilda's team? Do you only have one? If so, then it seems you almost agree with me then.
haha :D Good to see you've adopted the bay 13 spirit :thumbsu:
Who would you consider ahead of Davis there then? Surely not Stephen (I refuse to tackle) Milne! The only reason he has kicked a few goals this season is because Riewoldt has been out, and Kosie is one of the worst tall forwards in the AFL, and can't get anywhere near it, but he wouldn't get a kick otherwise. He has contributed 46 goals as the main forward for St.Kilda this season. Leon Davis has contributed 33 goals, but is not the main forward at all.

He leads inside-50 tackles in the AFL, so he has helped Collingwood score goals that have not been contributed to him, so he is much more of a team player than one-trick-pony Milne. He was also an All-Australian last year, and he has a higher SuperCoach average this season than Milne. Davis has been unfairly maligned this year at times, but despite that, he is still a better player than Milne.

Ballantyne > Milne > Davis.
Davis > Ballantyne > Milne, despite Davis' criticisms this season. Davis has contributed more goals and averages more tackles per match than Ballantyne so far this season. It's irrelevant anyway, because it has no bearing on my opinion that about fourteen Collingwood players would make St.Kilda's best team.
Blatant lie.
I haven't lied about anything, but if you think I'm wrong, which is different to lying, then please prove it by showing a source. Collingwood leads the AFL with inside-50 tackles. Davis is Collingwood's leading inside-50 tackler, whilst Milne is a one-trick-pony as shown in his low tackle count and low number of goal assists, and he has only directly contributed 12 more goals this season because he has been the main forward option for most of the season.
What did Bay13 ever do to deserve having this yawnfest dropped on us?
Thanks for the contribution. :) Surely posters don't contribute to threads they find boring though.

Not at all. I said that last season, but I didn't say that this season. He has been used up the ground more so far this season. I think he should be on a half forward flank...

B: Harry O'Brien, Ben Reid, Sam Gilbert
HB: Heath Shaw, Sam Fisher, Nick Maxwell
C: Leigh Montagna (yuck), Lenny Hayes, Nick Dal Santo
HF: Alan Didak, Nick Riewoldt, Brendon Goddard
For: Dale Thomas, Travis Cloke, Leon Davis
Foll: Darren Jolly, Scott Pendlebury, Dane Swan
Inter: Luke Ball, Dayne Beams, Chris Dawes, Clint Jones

Lot of pressure on Riewoldt & Goddard to carry that forward line in finals as the other 4 have proven they go missing come September.

Collingwood may be favourites but they have proven they are not up to it in September. This fact is irrefutable.

You make this sound like its a bad thing. I'm sure if a Collingwood forward had scored contributed this many goals you would be parading it in every one of your posts on this topic.

That's not accurate. That has not been proven at all! Didak has played good finals before. Cloke and Thomas as well even though they are both still quite young. Davis has been disappointing in finals though.
Collingwood may be favourites but they have proven they are not up to it in September. This fact is irrefutable.
Irrefutable? Ha ha ha! Firstly, what are Collingwood favourites for? Also, Collingwood has won more finals matches played in September than any other team. Don't let the truth get in the way of a good story now.

There is no need for that. If you disagree, that's fine, but in my opinion, Goddard could quite realistically be played around half forward.

It's a jibe at the fact you think Goddard played in defence last year, (because it suited your argument) and that he hasn't played in defence this year because it doesn't suit your argument, when in fact with Gram and Clarke missing and Fishers forays forward he's actually spent more time back this year than last.

So, if you think it's best that I don't think, then what other issues do you have regarding my opinion that about fourteen Collingwood players would make St.Kilda's team? Do you only have one?

no

If so, then it seems you almost agree with me then.

hardly, here's one more. Jolly averages 23% time off the ground, who are you rucking in that time? Dawes? hasn't had a hit out this year, in fact Hayes is your 2nd best ruckman.

Who would you consider ahead of Davis there then? Surely not Stephen (I refuse to tackle) Milne! The only reason he has kicked a few goals this season is because Riewoldt has been out,

hardly

here's Milne's goals per game tally over the past 10 years

Code:
2001	1.6
2002	2.4
2003	1.9
2004	2.2
2005	2.5
2006	1.3
2007	1.5
2008	2.5
2009	2.0
2010	2.5

and Kosie is one of the worst tall forwards in the AFL, and can't get anywhere near it, but he wouldn't get a kick otherwise. He has contributed 46 goals as the main forward for St.Kilda this season. Leon Davis has contributed 33 goals, but is not the main forward at all.

can't get near it, but has contributed 46 goals, imagine he could get near it,

He leads inside-50 tackles in the AFL, so he has helped Collingwood score goals that have not been contributed to him, so he is much more of a team player than one-trick-pony Milne. He was also an All-Australian last year,

Kosi creates spillages not attributed to him.

and he has a higher SuperCoach average this season than Milne.

67.8 to 66.7 ?

Up until this week Milne had a higher supercoach average than Davis, I can assume you had Milne in your side last week.

Or maybe you should just go for Schneider who is averaging 87.4 supercoach points and has still kicked 9 more goals than Davis.

Davis has been unfairly maligned this year at times, but despite that, he is still a better player than Milne.

Fairly maligned

GEELONG are still proemiership favourites.

Wait till Ottens and Corey step up.

Gary Ablett Jnr will want to leave on a high note.

So he will stop sulking and play a fantastic finals series as well.

Even if Collingwood finish top, Geelong and Saints are much better and will step it up come finals. Don't count out Hawthorn also.

You can't possibly say Davis has had a better season than Milne.
In my opinion he has. Milne has been better than Davis offensively according to goals contributed, but Davis has been much better than Milne defensively which puts him ahead overall.
You make this sound like its a bad thing. I'm sure if a Collingwood forward had scored contributed this many goals you would be parading it in every one of your posts on this topic.
I never once said or suggested it was a bad thing. How did you come to that conclusion?
It's a jibe at the fact you think Goddard played in defence last year, (because it suited your argument) and that he hasn't played in defence this year because it doesn't suit your argument
Please don't make things up that I haven't said to suit yourself. I said that Goddard spent more time in defence last year, but this year he has spent more time up the field than in defence. St.Kilda's midfield is weaker this year than last year due to the loss of Luke Ball and the acquisition of the extremely ordinary Brett Peake, so they have needed Goddard's input there more.
when in fact with Gram and Clarke missing and Fishers forays forward he's actually spent more time back this year than last.
No, he's played up the field more this season. He still spends some time in defence of course, but they've been using other players back there as well.

With Riewoldt out for most of the year and Kosi struggling, Milne has pretty much carried the forward line and St Kilda remained a top side during that time. I don't think Davis would have been capable of that much pressure based on his performances this season. Last year he was good but he has been a passenger for much of the season. Davis looks like he is finding form though and maybe he will do a reverse of his season last year and play well in the 2nd half of the year and finals.

that's what I said you said.

And you're still wrong

In my opinion he has. Milne has been better than Davis offensively according to goals contributed, but Davis has been much better than Milne defensively which puts him ahead overall.

Much better defensively, based on what? Just crap you've made up again to suit your argument?

A forward's main job is kicking goals and Milne has been better and more consistent this year than Davis. If Davis was selected ahead of Milne for All Australian selection it would be a joke, just like last year when Davis was selected ahead of LeCras.

With Riewoldt out for most of the year and Kosi struggling, Milne has pretty much carried the forward line and St Kilda remained a top side during that time.
Of course, but with Riewoldt out and Kosi struggling gave him more chances to score as well though. Davis may have had the same results under similar circumstances.
I don't think Davis would have been capable of that much pressure based on his performances this season.
Maybe he would have thrived on it. We'll never know, and there is no way to prove it one way or the other of course.
Last year he was good but he has been a passenger for much of the season.
No he hasn't. On his days when he hasn't had a direct influence on the scoreboard, his defensive effort has been extremely valuable. He leads the AFL in forward-50 tackles, and many of the goals that have been scored from that are not directly linked to him.
Davis looks like he is finding form though and maybe he will do a reverse of his season last year and play well in the 2nd half of the year and finals.
He simply hasn't been at his best offensively, no doubt about it, but his fabulous defensive work this season has gone unnoticed because it is not as glamourous. Milne has been better offensively, but Davis has been much better defensively which puts him ahead in my opinion. There is no way that Milne would get a game at Collingwood ahead of him.
that's what I said you said.
Well in that case, it seems you agree with me then! Goddard did play in defence last season. Goddard has spent more time up the field this season.
And you're still wrong
Ha ha ha! It seems to me that you're just arguing for that sake of it, because you don't make any sense at all. Goddard did play in defence more last season. He has played more up the ground this season to try to cover St.Kilda's weakened midfield.
Much better defensively, based on what? Just crap you've made up again to suit your argument
Ha ha ha ha ha! Your continual ignorance is priceless! It does not surprise me in the slightest that you are unaware of Davis' input for Collingwood this season.
A forward's main job is kicking goals and Milne has been better and more consistent this year than Davis.
I didn't say it wasn't the main thing, but in this day and age, forcing forward-50 turnovers is a close second, even if you are unaware of that. Davis is much, much better at that then Milne.
If Davis was selected ahead of Milne for All Australian selection it would be a joke, just like last year when Davis was selected ahead of LeCras.
Oh for goodness sake. The ignorance continues. Leon Davis didn't play in the same position last season as Mark LeCras. I do find your comments quite humourous, but not in a flattering way. You really do need to learn more about what you're commenting on.

Of course, but with Riewoldt out and Kosi struggling gave him more chances to score as well though.

and less chance for Schneider to score and assist

Well in that case, it seems you agree with me then!

you should look up the word wrong

Milne is streets ahead of Davis this season, as are a number of other small forwards in the competition.

KS's objection to him is sure to be based more on the accusations he has had levelled at him offield than his actual onfield contribution. She also couldn't resist putting the word "yuck" in brackets next to Montagna's name earlier.

Speaks volumes for her inability to base her opinions on someone's playing ability rather than her offield perception of them really

and less chance for Schneider to score and assist
I don't know what you're on about. What has Schneider got to do with anything I have posted in this thread? I haven't even mentioned him. Again in my opinion, a much maligned Leon Davis has still been better overall than Stephen Milne this season. Milne has been slightly better offensively, but Davis has been much better defensively, and since Riewoldt has returned, Milne has done very little to nothing which has not surprised me at all. He would not get a game at Collingwood ahead of Davis, and he won't be an All-Australian either because he is a front-runner that does not work hard enough.
you should look up the word wrong
I know what it means, but it's irrelevant to anything I have posted in this thread. Goddard spent more time in defence last season, and more time up the ground this season due to St.Kilda's weakened midfield. They have lost a quality player and person in Luke Ball, and they have added Brett Peake which is a massive step backwards as reflected in St.Kilda's performances this season.

there's your problem

Keep waffling

Schneider > Milne

Bollocks

They have lost a quality player and person in Luke Ball, and they have added Brett Peake which is a massive step backwards as reflected in St.Kilda's performances this season.

They've also missed Jason Gram coming off half back, hence Goddard spending more time back there this season than last :)
