houli- what do we offer now.

We may now keep Houli on the list and not delist him until the final day, ensuring he has to go into the PSD instead of the ND.

ah, no... it's not our choice, it's Houli's. We now have no ownership over Houli, nor any chance to manipulate his movements.

Nor would we want to. Trying to get the best result out of a trade is entirely different to ****ing a player over when there is no reward for us other than spite.

For shame

That way we have virtually assured ourselves of the 2nd pick in the PSD and Houli probably has a heads of agreement with Richmond, i'm only guessing here, for them to take him in the PSD, so you will be out of the running for any high profile players that nominate.

Doubt Houli wants to go into the ND anyway as he will most likely not get to Richmond if he does.
You're more than welcome to Travis Cloke if he nominates. Enjoy paying him $600k+ per season for the next 3 years.

Do we really want this bloke? Look at how he has behaved lately, like a kid who didn't get what he wanted for chrissie:thumbsdown:
If you were employed at a company and they kept overlooking you would you hang around?

Hats off to the other AFL players (including Thursty) who said they would be interested in a new start somewhere else. They didn't throw a tanty like Houli.
Yeah Thursty never threw a tanty, he was told he would be in competition for a spot with half a dozen other KPD and said he wanted out. Only difference between him and a few others and Houli is they all had the security of a contract to fall back on if the trade request didn't go through.

Just not sure this is the type of kid we need, what sort of message will it send to our young list?
The type of message I get from Houli is that he is a kid that is desperate for a chance and is willing to put it on the line to get that chance. Not sure how that is a poor message.

I think you should do some research before you spout off. We cannot stop Houli from going into the ND if he chooses, as he's no longer contracted by us for next season. He's on our list until he joins another list

Who spouted off?

I told you he was still contracted, which he is.

I can't remember the dates but he may have to nominate for the draft before we lodge our list, if so, we can stop him from going into the PSD, if not we can't.

I don't think he will want to risk it anyway but time will tell.

He is our list until list lodgements. Maybe you should do some research before spouting off...

he's not contracted for next year. He won't be. He's on our list, but he is not contracted. Given he's not contracted for next year it's entirely irrelevant when we lodge our list.

We can't stop him, nor would we want to, nor should we.

I'm all for rivalries, but that's just ridiculous. Not only does it **** Richmond, it also ****s Houli, and both those parties deserve better, regardless of the trade argy bargy

Dude, let it go.

He is currently contracted as ALL player contracts expire in October.

I think it's the 21st or something that they expire, i can't remember.

Yes he won't be with us next year but he IS contracted.

So let me get this right, the dons will only go three deep into the national draft but are hanging out for thier PSD pick in order to pick up one of the plethora of "high profile" players that nominate.

The PSD if for those kids who either missed out on the ND or for players who are out of contract.

Tell me now who the dons would sign out of all the players that are being cut loose from their clubs this year

Pathetic post Prodigious, the dons wont even use their PSD pick IMO:thumbsdown:

He may not be the only decent player who nominates....
Yep I forgot Adam Pattison, Jordan McMahon, Dean Polo, Jason Laycock, Adam Thomson, Troy Selwood, Rhan Hooper, Scott Harding, Josh Smith, Warren Benjamin, Wade Thompson, Kristin Thornton, Tony Notte, Beau Wilkes & Matt Spangher. Like I said take your pick.

Just imagine if your club had of taken the pick we offered you may have been able to take a talented 17-18 year old and replaced an extra spud. Oh well chance missed is a gain for us, now we get to gain that extra 17-18 year old 3rd rounder plus get Houli.

It depends on whether we have to delist him for the first list lodgement or the second.

If it's the second we can but i think it's the first.

He doesn't want to move interstate and Richmond have offered him crazy money tbh, so i don't think he will risk the ND and will go PSD but he might put a big price on his head and go ND.

TBH i don't care anymore and he can panic and put his team mates under pressure for someone else now.

What were you saying about recruiting fringe players again?

And yes McMahon was a failure at 19 but at least we got some service out of him. :D

hahaha that picture right there is another reason we hate Matthew Knights.

Anyway, I'm in the minority of Essendon supporters who disagree with the way Houli was treated. I think he has plenty to give and I wish him well with you guys.

I still think our list sh1ts all over yours.

Will be interesting to see what nickname our strong female fanbase will make with Houli.

We had Richo, Cotch, Dusty, Axel, Snake, Gus.

I reckon if Houli gets good the females will start calling him Houlicious, hey, maybe Bruce McAvaney can start using that!

We'll get him for our PSD pick, will be a good depth player. Could be a regular too.

He is still contracted....

No he isn't, otherwise he couldn't nominate for either draft.
Run along junior you have NFI.
Essendon no longer has anything to do with anything be chooses to do in the future.

Contracts expire Oct 31st, and then out of contract players have until Nov 5th to nominate for the ND, or Nov 30th for the PSD.

Cya Junior....lol

Your the one claiming you guys can stop him from nominating for the draft.
100% wrong, doesn't require much brain power to work out that a player who is out of contract can nominate for the draft.
But you can have your little technicality if it makes you feel better.
