Should be 4-5. But the tribunal takes into account finals, and potentially a grand final. Which is why I think he'll only get 3.

Shouldn’t come into it one single bit didn’t come into it when Rankine got 4- cost the crows any chance of finals. It’s a 4 week absolute minimum and it should be 5.

was he seriously booed as he was stretchered off??? if so thats mindbogglingly disgusting

and i reckon that hits a minimum of 4, more like 6
There were spectators hanging over the fence, abusing him, as well as the booing. Grown men and women giving him the finger. Been watching the game for nearly 40 years, don't remember seeing anything like it.
Why are people calling it a 'fair bump'? There's no such thing anymore, if it causes concussion.

What consideration? Rankine was never suspended and still got 4 weeks after causing a concussion with a clash of head, Houston hit Rankine on the head with his shoulder which meant he got himself in a position when the collision occurred were he eliminated himself getting injured. Only Rankine was in the vulnerable position and only he could have received a serious injury.
Because it was an off the ball unnecessary hit.
How can you not see the difference between an attack on a player in possession and a player not in possession.

The player in possession can legally be tackled or bumped, the player not in possession cannot be.
Ive had a Crow nufty say Rankines was a shepered, its still not legal 15m off the ball and it certainly wasnt necessary.

Houstons bump was poor, he didnt set out to miss finals.

Omg that’s just ….. wow, I don’t even have the words, so bad

You need to put this in context, Showdowns are promoted as spiteful events, the Adelaide media spend all week pumping it up and feeding the hatred.
Then you have the Rochelles of the world actively slandering the fans off field and then during the game.
Then you have the mouthy away team fan that positions himself amongst the diehards and eggs them on.
All thats before and during watching one of your own tunnelled.

Then we get what we saw and oppo fans and media profess to not seeing that coming.

Give me a spell.

Its a bad look, but in the heat of the moment all things considered, hardly suprising.

Why wouldn't you just snipe your opponents best players like that in the GF given there's no send off rule, no free kick awarded, no instant ramifications? It's a bad look but clearly it's a smart footy play. Rules need changing asap.

I'd love to see GWS in a close GF, reckon Toby Green would be fine with missing the first 10 weeks of 2025 to guarantee a medal.

That didnt work out well for Alastair Lynch when he went all out swinging haymakers in the 04 GF
:tearsofjoy:, nor did it help the Lions win

Looks like the sort of bump that Kossi Pickett does every now and then, take a look at one of his suspensions, that's what Houston will get.
Didn't see Houston launch his feet off the ground in a missile like motion and hit a player directly in the temple...

They're so far apart it's insane to even suggest they are similar.

Dan Houston is the Breaker Morant of this situation, just following orders from Hinkley and Carr. It's probably those two who should be suspended.

Rachele slandering the fans?

FMD.

Port supporters didn't seem to mind when Wines, Burton and Byrne Jones all on radio last year called us snobs, privileged and laughed about the Chardonnay set tag.

Actually most of us did have a problem with it

That's fair enough. I just thought it was a bit hypocritical that Rachele is panned for it when the Power players publicly said what they did.

FWIW I'm not one for the trash talk. As we've seen it can blow up in your face pretty quickly. Rachele is 100% proof of that.

Yeah, and when Aliir and Jones went down in your showdown your feral supporters made plenty of noise, I was sitting in some of your premium seating so not like they were GA bottom feeders either.
Theres good and bad in all.

Rankine got 4 weeks for intentional rough conduct with high contact and severe impact.

Dan Houston has been charged with careless rough conduct with high contact and severe impact.

He's got a lesser charge than Rankine. So should be looking at a lesser punishment.

lol .. no .. Rankine's was deemed intentional because it was off the ball, that's automatic

There is just as much likelihood Houston will get more :thumbsu:
