its bye week, lots of angst etc.
So to brighten up the boards a little bit of universal love to all of us as Collingwood supporter.

How did you become a lifer? A Collingwood supporter for life?
Did you ever, shook horror!, dabble with any other team?

Earliest memories that solidified your magpie manically rabid support?

Over to you.

I'm told I was a Collingwood supporter before I was born.
Just happened that way.
Loved the early memories of vagueness of this might special team Collingwood.

Been that way ever since.

At the age of 5-6 my mate followed the Saints then Melbourne, soI just did the same, on the last day before moving away, my mate changed to the Pies, I was sad that I wouldn't probably not see him again so I changed as well, there was a period of time I liked the Dons because of a teacher crush, but that faded. Black & White blood ever since 1972ish!

I think it was the night of the 2010 premiership. I was out at a pub watching man united play and I saw a group of Collingwood people celebrating. I met a couple of them at the bar when they were buying drinks, and they told me about the win. I hadn't paid much attention to Australian rules other than going to a few eagles and dockers games with mates. The Pies fans told me all about it and gave me a beanie and told me all the stuff about how they were the youngest team ever to win and they would win a truckload of premierships. I thought it was a pretty good bet so I decided to have the magpies as my team. I probably should have joined the hawks but I've had my share of fun with it over the years. I'll reconsider my options at the end of the year, as you do from time to time.

Teacher crush.... Ah childhood memories....
Never had a teacher crush myself

Parents migrated from Greece to Australia and lived in Collingwood so had to go for Collingwood
If I may,
I find Greeks by and large follow Collingwood, I wouldn't be surprised the % of Greek Collingwood is even higher than % of supporters who are magpies.
Proving besides delicious food, support of Collingwood is A one!

Born into it - my Dad was born and raised a stone's throw from Vic Park so from a die hard Collingwood family. I have so many childhood memories watching games at Vic Park in the 70s and 80s and the whole family are staunch Pies people. The old boy and his sisters still get along to games every week despite them all being in their 70s - I reckon if you cut open our veins, black and white blood will pour out.

Hence why I am of the view on our current situation "This too shall pass" and am not getting too bent out of shape about it. GO PIES!!

A relative played for Essendon, my first Primary School Teacher played for Essendon, half my mother's family barracked for Essendon and the other half Carlton (except my mother, who was the only Collingwood supporter). My father and his father were North Melbourne. I don't remember how I became a Collingwood supporter but my first memories were 1976 (our first wooden spoon). Was at the 1977, 1979 and 1981 GF's and remember crying after each one.

We had some stars but we never had the best overall side and we always appeared to be punching above our weight and I loved it about us.

When I was about 5 my sister and I told our Collingwood mad father that we wanted to support Geelong because our friends did.

He said "You can support Geelong if you want, but you have to sleep outside in the dog kennel. If you want to sleep inside you have to barrack for Collingwood". We 100% believed he was serious (to be fair, I think he was).

Love it.
Yes, he probably was serious, sort of....
