A (somewhat shocking) family story.
On game day at Vic park it was bedlam for traffic and they were out of milk, so my step-grandmother (who's insane) went to take the car which was parked out the front.
But to save the spot, she had my aunts (twin girls, 5 at the time) stand in that space and explain they were locals and would be returning soon so no one would park there.
When she returned with the milk, she found the two girls crying on the footpath and space filled. Apparently, this guy had said to them, if you don't move - I'm running the two of you over!
My step-grandmother only asked one question, 'who did he barrack for'?
And when the answer was Footscray the story goes that the gentleman lost a couple of his tires that day.
The thing that always gets me about that story is I think it was the fact that he didn't go Collingwood which set her off...
