Firstly with saturday afternoon footy starting at 3.15pm, which then leads into the 5.30 and 7.30 game, thats a proper super saturday...

a good crowd (mostly dragons fans lol)

and then yesterday with a packed house at Campbelltown for the game of the year!!!

It shows afternoon footy in Sydney is badly needed and lets hope next media rights everyone realizes it.

Don't agree with you.
Last Sat. was Anzac Day, and it was a bit of an exception to the norm.
I think you will find that in the past Sat. a/noon crowds were poor and clubs asked not to play at a 3pm timeslot.

People like to shop/bank, do their housework, etc. and kids play sport on Sat/ a/noons...rather see more Sunday a/noon games.

Well maybe the nrl could schedule a few more games for sat. a/noon and if crowds come, they'll get more in the future...but going by the past, crowds were very poor and clubs were opting for another timeslot.
Same thing happened here in Melb.

I think some people forget how many people are involved in the Rugby league (and not to mention other sports) community in Sydney who are involved in their own junior or amateur / semi-pro clubs (including the Newtown Jets and many of the Bundy Cup and Queensland Cup clubs who only play on saturday afternoons) at this time.

There are more than 20,000 people playing League in Western Sydney alone (not sure how many in other areas of Sydney but it would be similar in South Sydney's district) at this time - factor in parents, friends, officials, volunteers, etc. (and the couple thousand RL nerds like myself who go along to watch these teams) and you've got a hell of a lot of people who aren't going to be turning up to an NRL clash even if they are RL people... because they're playing for, volunteering at, or referring a game between Bondi United and Coogee Wombats or similar...

Though, I generally agree that there should be more daytime football - but on probably on Sunday afternoon.

2002 when Storm were struggling they had most of their games on sat afternoon and it didnt work, then they played them for the Tigers when they were still a new club....im sure if you have it now people will turn up, and its better for tv networks too because otherwise e have another delayed game which we dont want when game is on day time

Junior sport is the main problem with Saturday afternoon football in Sydney.

But it's also been a long time since the Saturday timeslot (when it was around) was allocated to a high profile game.

For most of the time in the 90s the Saturday game went to one of the dud games of the round.

Perhaps Saturday afternoon football could work with a good quality game and a 4pm kickoff (or 3:30 pm if it workd better for Super Saturday). That makes it closer to twilight in the winter months, but it could be worth trialing if nothing else.

Either way we need more football on Sunday.
