If this is already an existing thread, or does warrant being a separate thread then feel free to merge as needed mods.

With different opinions out there on how far along we are in our rebuild, thought it would be interesting to get everyone's thoughts on how many of our next Best 22 that will be challenging deep in finals we already have on our list.

Realistically I'd say we are probably at least 3-5 years away from playing finals, and then probably a couple after that at seriously contending. This probably rules out the following players from being a part
McGovern, Gaff, Darling, Cripps, Yeo

So based on that, I'd say the following players should hopefully be at a reasonable standard by then to be part of a challenging side.

(based on 5 years from now)

B: T.Cole (31)- T.Barrass (32) - _________
HB: L.Duggan (31) - ___________ - R.Bazzo (24)
C: B.Hough (25) - R.Ginbey (23) - _______
HF: D.Sheed (33) - _________ - J.Culley (25)
FF: N.Long (24) - O.Allen (29) - L.Ryan (31)
R: B.Williams (28) - E.Hewett (24) - T.Kelly (34)
Int: _______ , ________ , ________ , _________

From the rest
Could still make it
J.Williams (24), J.Petrucelle (29), L.Edwards (26), C.Chesser (25), R.Maric (23)

Likely just depth
J.Hunt (33), G.Clark (31), J.Rotham (30), SPS (30), J.Waterman (29), L.Foley (28), C.West (29), J.Jones (29), A.Witherden (29),

Unlikely
X.O'Neill (28), H.Edwards (26), Z.Trew (26), I.Winder (26), C.Jamieson (28),

Unknown
H.Barnett (24), C.Burgiel (23), T.Dewar (24), J.Baker (24)

Anyone have a different take on this ?

If the pattern continues it could be as far away as about 2030, which is not unrealistic with a few more years of rebuilding then making finals from 2026 onwards.
(Note these are wild guesses/my own personal opinions)

In order of age:

Amost certainties:
Allen
B Williams
Hough
Bazzo
Hewett
Long
Maric
Ginbey

Maybe retired:
Barrass
Ryan
Duggan
Cole

Perhaps still on the list
Jones
Petruccelle
Jamieson
Chesser

Unknown due to lack of exposure:
Culley
J Williams
Dewar
Baker
Barnett
Burgiel
