How many push-ups can you do without stopping?

You can't believe anyone when talking about push ups.
It's all about form and people rarely do them properly

Pretty much this.

Pointless argument. People think they are doing them properly half the time and aren't even close.

Speed can make a big difference, if you go fast you can take advantage of momentum and it also means less time suspending yourself.

A good test would be with an audible second timer and you have to keep up with it, not faster or slower. Have to touch the ground with your nose, have to hit something above at your lower neck.

Might try it, how ,much do you weigh xbox?

Only 75kgs.

My record is still 90. I just felt damn mighty that evening when I decided I'd go for my record.

I usually do about 5-6 sets of 70 reps daily, but will only go for my record if I'm feeling better than usual at the 70 push-up mark.

Prior to my shoulder being rooted I could do about 30-35 when I was 16. Ever since I dislocated my left shoulder and had it operated on I can usually go to about 4 without any sharp pain, and can usually do another 3 before its unbareable.

Still haven't tried but how many pullups can you do. Most epic exercise of all time

95!

I break my record when I have a day's rest in between and immediately after stepping out of bed.

I'm kinda curious what you are trying to achieve. 95 is very impressive if you are going all the way down with proper form, but I notice your best bench press is a pretty light weight.

Are you just trying to get fit, want to gain muscle or just want to have really good muscle endurance?

BTW you could probably do even more if you had a decent meal about an hour before you did the push ups. You have less energy on an empty stomach.

Almost 1 when i do the proper ones.

Probably about 30 when i do them from my knees.

This!:thumbsu:

I've been on a weight loss/health kick recently and my physio has suggested 30 pushups a day. So after I stopped laughingh (I haven't even attempted a pushup in 20 years), he said I should start on my knees and then work my way up to real ones.

But my problem is this - my wrists can barely handle the strain/stress. So what exaclty is the best technique? And how can I stop my wrists from hurting?

you need to keep your wrists straight. They are stronger that way.

So either do them on your knuckles on a towel or cushion; or buy soME little push-up stands. They are only like 8$ at big W or KMART

Haha, cool thread. I can do only six, but I can hold my whole body weight hanging from one hand or open any jar and I think that's for a 110 lb girl, haha. Yay for rock climbing ;).
