made 2 trades......not going to make trades lightly

brad johnson let me down
josh hill didnt:thumbsu: (outs were waite and kosi)

only scored 2025 (moved me into top 400)..... best for the season so far...but going into sunday had potential to get a lot more.

i still haven't used one, and probably won't be trading this week either.

(gotta make those trades COUNT this year )
Here is a tip from Freako in the Prospectus: Use 4 trades in your first 2 weeks.

Followed this advice and it served me well. Now I have a team that scored a comfortable 1987 this week despite playing 1 short and can sit back and relax while everyone else who hasn't made trades tries to work out the best value they can get for making trades.

0 so far.
Subject to a number of players actually playing this week though.

Particularily in my forward line where Ive been hit by a couple injuries

I've used three.

It depends on how good your original team selections were and how many injuries and scratchings you've had to contend with. If you haven't used a trade yet, good on you and well done.

There's nothing wrong with trading if it needs to be done though. Nobody is playing to see how many trades we can save, we're playing to win. What makes me laugh is all the stoopid trades going on:

*picking up Dew and Thornton after round 1
*trading Barry Hall after round 1
*trading Jonothon Brown after last week

They're the four examples that spring to mind immediately, I'm sure there's more.

These are the people that are going to be stuck with no trades left come round 15.

used 3 so far.. gonna do 1 this week. theres no rule to when u should trade, each team is diff depending on what you want to achieve and what your environment is (injuries, form, suspensions etc)

Used 1, will definately use another this week, potentially a second.

As for 'trade theories' there is no right or wrong way to do it. If a good opportunity presents itself you take it, if it doesnt then you hold out. The skill with using trades is knowing when is the right moment e.g. has a cash cows price risen to its potential, has a player whos form has been down bottomed out. Also not wasting trades because a player has 1 bad match or because another player such as thronton had 2 good weeks therefore he is a must. All those who got thornton will be kicking themselves - a complete and utter waste

Exactly right. I saw a thread titled "Should i keep Jono Brown?" What kind of freakin dimwit would ask a question like that? Some people need to use whats inbetween their ears a bit more.

Hey, he's had 2 bad weeks in a row. Worrying signs IMO. Not going to get rid of him though.

Made 4 trades:

In: Porps, Hill, M.Murphy, Geary

Out: Kosi, Pendles, Coughlan, Jetta

Got 268K in the bank and would have scored 2K with a better captain choice.

Reasonably happy with where my team is at the moment. :)

The winner last year didn't use a trade till Round 8 so there goes your theory..

You are wrong. He made trades round 2, and then didn't trade till round 8.
He obviously had a very good run from rounds 2-8 injury wise.

But I'm planning on doing roughly the same.
Made 2 trades in round 2. 1 was for disputedly the best cash-cow this game has every had. And that trade gave me an extra 100K for which I upgraded an under performing middle-tier player to Corey, which I would have had to do sooner or later.

Now I'm going to sit tightly till my cows (hill, palmer, rioli etc) plateau - probably around rounds 8-10.

Apparently this was because he was overseas at the time, and had limited/no use of a computer

Unfortunately, I've already used up 6 but that will do me for a while.

My trades have been:

OUT Aaron Edwards IN Josh Hill

OUT Bachar Houli IN Ryan Griffen

OUT Nathan Lovett-Murray IN Jesse Smith

OUT Scott Thompson IN Scott Selwood

OUT Scott Lucas IN Jonathan Brown

OUT Mark Coughlan IN Bachar Houli

Edwards has done nothing all year, wasted a trade on Houli, NLM was uninspiring, Coughlan hasn't played yet, Scott Thompson was dropped after Round 1 and doesn't look like coming back for a while.

Smith will play this week, got him now while he was cheap.

Apart from my first trade, I feel my other trades are all upgrades on what I already had.

You got rid of him, then picked him up again????:confused:
