How would Daisy be feeling right now

I like the inference that if he stayed with us he'd be on minimum wage. Spare us.

Here's my perspective as one of the bitter folk.

I don't think about him. I don't start topics about him. But if he's mentioned I'll give my opinion, which is that I dislike him pretty bloody strongly, and as a Carlton player I wish him every failure.

It makes me laugh when people expect football supporters to view the game in a dispassionate or "understanding" way. "Hey man, it's just how footy is these days. Don't be so bitter and hypocritical maaan. Just let it go duuude."

Hell, I don't even have to be rational if I don't want to. It's footy! Basic, tribal, instinctive and fun.

I save my compassion and understanding for real life and regard Carlton players, particularly this example, with the contempt they deserve. And it's not REAL hatred. It's footy hatred. Pantomime hated.

There is no logic in this, nor do I want there to be. I love Collingwood. I hate Carlton. I take pleasure from their pain and wish them nothing but continued misery. Because it's fun! Lighten up, hand wringers.

An interesting post - philosophically and psychologically-wise...

Have re-posted onto The Collingwood Blog for the edification of our fellow BOAF (Birds Of A Feather).

Cheers!

Can't see Shaz coming back, though I agree, he brought a different element to our game.

Watched young Sharrod run around at Geelong on Saturday and being a neutral observer I did watch him a bit. He certainly has great composure in close and can look a million bucks at times, almost reminded me a bit of Chad Wingard......but thats about it. He is quite lazy and doesn't do a lot of the little things. He is not a hard runner and has zero defensive game. His disposal is sloppy and poor. He still has a lot of work to do before he can be regarded as a good player, he has some great tools but needs to work a lot harder and at this stage of his career he should already have been at this point. I came away thinking losing Sharrod wasn't a terribly bad thing especially considering the draft pick we got for him.

The same I think is starting to be thought about Daisy I guess, although he needs to get a lot more match fit before judgements made. I think both Sharrod and Daisy provided important bit part functions within our team, but were not vital to it. Moving to new clubs they are in more elevated roles and perhaps are not quite up to the expectations that come with being a big recruit. I think Sharrod & Daisy's best positions are half forward flanks who can change onto the ball. I think we have missed them in these roles to a degree, especially the chop out they gave to our mids. However at the end of the day they were very replaceable and not worth the money needed to retain them.

I always liked him as a player, but it is clear there was going to be a big difference between his paycheck and his output going forward.

We should just be glad he isn't sitting on the sidelines putting the squeeze on our salary cap. Good result.

Slightly off topic, but I stumbled across and old "Carlton Memes" thread in their Blue Room board which hadn't been posted on since last year, so thought I'd bump their thread for them with some new memes:

The second one was originally posted by one them but with the success kid meme, LOLOLOLOLOLOLOL!!!!
Got an infraction for this, as expected. But the title of the thread was "Carlton Memes" and that's exactly what I posted, touchy little punces they are.

Danger time for Thomas. He will now have to go all out re having a crack and he will find out whether his ankle can stand up to it.

Pretty good I imagine. He's getting paid $700k over 4 years to play football, he obviously didn't join Carlton to win premierships.

I hope he stays injury free and can improve his form, would be great seeing him playing like he was in 2010. (unlikely)

Not being a smartass here but how can you feel that way after the way he got up and left like he did

I do not have a problem him going Carlton i do not like how he wnet about it with his radio stuff and just his attitude with rehab etc

The following picture was taken from today's Carlton training. You'll see Daisy in the middle there on his giant pile of cash. Surrounded by his team mates, Judd, Murphy and Gibbs.

The downhill skiing aspect is certainly correct :thumbsu:

How the **** can you be so magnanimous towards this traitor?!:mad::mad: I hope he continues to play as he has so far for Carlton. He has left for money and because of an obvious dislike for Buckley. I hope he fails BIG time!

God article, pretty much sums up what I feel about him. He'll never be loved at Carlton no matter what he does, and he burn't the love he had at Collingwood, all these reduces his marketability and threatens his ability to earn post footy. He could have accepted $500k a year at Pieland with far more earning power post footy than now. Poor choice, ill advised management.

Well as I say I reckon he did not get along with Bucks and his love for MM

Timing is everything. Mick McGuane will remain much loved. I will never like Dale again.
