How would Daisy be feeling right now

I can't be as angry at him as some of the posters here.

His behavior last year was ordinary but that does not discount everything else that was good about him, or his contribution in 10 and 11.

I wish him the best, just not against us.

It still kills me to see him in the Carlton jersey.

I couldn't care less how Daisy is feeling right now because he decided to make himself irrelevant when he turned his back on the Pies. We supported him for two years with his injury issues, allowed him to go surfing in the offseason instead of having surgery. We even offered him a contract that was pretty decent in anyone's language. The club would've provided him with a multitude of opportunities to continue making good coin after his playing days were over.

He turned his back on all of that and more, all for what? So, I repeat, I couldn't care less how he is feeling right now.

Because it illustrates that we can turn into unforgiving haters that quickly forget any good a person has done.
Has is the operative term. I don't need to feel any sense of loyalty to him because he is a premiership player just as he hasn't shown any loyalty to his premiership club. He looked after himself by leaving so why should I still revere him when he has left the club that I'm loyal to?

It really is time to move on from Daisy.
This!

We bag him saying he is no good his ankle is stuffed but are the first to get stuck in to him when Carlton lose. We hate Malthouse for getting stuck in to us when he was in the media for a year, calling him a bitter old man.

We are acting just like that on here with Dale Thomas. There is no reason to be bitter at all because we are the ones who are on top with his transaction with Carlton.

Carlton should have never gone after Daisy. They need a KPPS at both ends more than anything else.

But they played another step further into MM's revenge fantasy and have sunk themselves deeper.

The stupid decisions are piling up for them now, this club is out of touch with what is required and what they have to work with.

Yep. I don't understand why people think it's odd or embarrassing when people get stuck into someone who has been disloyal. You can play the 'it's business, premiership player, brought us good years' etc but it won't change the fact he left AND went to our worst enemy.

Not all will feel this way but some need to understand it's a perfectly normal human trait to dislike someone who is disloyal. Loyalty is in the Aussie culture. Standing by your mate et al.

I admit that it makes me feel slightly happier to see him not having a great effect at Carlton. But as for his feelings, I'm not really that fussed. If it means that we win a premiership faster, if he is feeling bad, then I'm all for it. I do admit that I have more Christian feelings for guys like danny stanley who were shown the door. I do wonder what will happen to dale if the master gets the AFL CEO position or takes over from the dali lama...

IF you look at this thread from the point of view of how would DT be feeling about his football right now, you might get more of a footy perspective.
In the age of FA, which the players wanted, beloved players will come and go, just have to accpet that. A bit rough to bag an ex hero unmercifully , yet embrace an incoming FA who has 'done a DT'.

Looking at DT's game; for me his strengths were his pace, hard hard running and ability to be damgerous as a pinch forward on the ground and in the air. Kicking and general disposal were never a strength.

Were do those strengths now sit? Most likely due to injuries, he seems to lack explosive pace, seems to stil try very hard, doesnt appear to be able to get of the ground to take a contested mark. In summary, i always though he gave us real X factor explosiveness. No doubt he wil limprove through the year, but he really is lacking that X factor which was the seperator between an Ok player and really good one.
Personally, i hope his injuries improve and his output is judged toward the end of the sesaon. I'm certain whatever he can do on the field this year, it was the correct call for us to allow him to leave without matching the Blues offer and walk away with our compo pick.

Be fair mate, not all of us are hating on Daisy. All I've said is I couldn't care less how he feels and didn't bag him at all. Is that akin to being an unforgiving hater?

It really is time to move on from Daisy.

On the contrary, I disagree. We will all move on in good time (I hope) but it is only four games in since he left the Pies and it's still very raw.

Malthouse has been gone for over two years and there's still threads and references to him regularly on this board. So to suggest we should move on from Daisy is a pipe dream in reality.

Not at all Premier Pies, but some have done a pretty good character assassination. I can understand the emotion, it's just not fair IMO.

Can I just add to that.

There was also a period from 08 to early 2010 where he was ridiculed as a flaky outsider who would pop up for 10-15 minutes of a match and go missing for the rest of it. It was a 50 game stretch that was broken by a 34 possession game v Brisbane.

During that period who were the people that always stuck by him? We were.

There was a chorus of hate directed at him, which was largely lead by Carlton supporters, but we fought the good fight for our man and then he wiped his arse with us through those bin comments.

FWIW I just can't understand the "oh but he's earning 700k why would he be hating this" comments. If he stuck by us he'd be earning 550k in the scheme of things what is the difference? He'd be at a club where he's universally loved and would receive the benefits of being a one club premiership player long after retirement.

It might not be hurting right now, but I guarantee it will at the 5, 10, 20 year reunions. When it's all said and done he could have been a club great 250+ game premiership player and he threw it all away for an extra 150k per year and the chance at a season or two with his father figure....

Daisy didn't go to our worst enemy, he went to your worst enemy. Collingwood has 17 enemies all of equal standing.

Do you dislike Luke Ball? He was disloyal to his club. There are a lot of hypocrits around here. Clinton Young came across through FA for a lot more than he was on just like Daisy.
