I cannot get over how sad some of you idiots are... it's amusing how obsessed with Collingwood you are.

I wonder what Postman Pat does with this life. Obviously he must be pretty busy to come up with a genius thread like that.

You can come up with any stat you want when you choose a specific time frame. What about the last 57 years? or 67? or 107?

Actually, i remember a newspaper survey from a couple of months ago about AFL issues here in SA, and I believe that St Kilda and Essendon had greater supporter bases than Collingwood.

Out of how many people though? All i know is that theres always a very good showing of Pie supporters at AAMI each year.

Yeah of those that could be bothered to vote that is. I live in Adelaide and didn't vote there is also a massive amount of collingwood supporters on nicks that come from adelaide, even Beau waters old man is a massive Collingwood supporter met him at the Grange pub once.

Collingwood are a successful club!

So they have won as many premierships as St Kilda, the Bulldogs, Sydney (at the current time), & Geelong since '58, and other clubs such as Brisbane, Carlton, North etc have won more titles. But over this time, Collingwood have just about won the most matches, won many other finals, have the most support, make their own cash, etc.

Club success shouldn't just be viewed by a performance on one particular day of the year, where conincidently Collingwood have historically struggled in the last 40-odd years. There are quite a few GF's in all of that which were a kick or two of going the other way.

A club is worth nothing if they can't continue as a going concern, a fact which applies to most clubs mentioned above should Centrelink decide to pull the pin on their funding and hand-outs.

How can each club win a premiership once every 12 years when there are 16 clubs?

Carlton
Hawthorn
Essendon
Richmond
Adelaide
Kangaroos
Melbourne
West Coast
Brisbane
Possibly Sydney in 2 days

These teams have equalled it:

Sydney (currently)
Port
St Kilda

Thats 12 clubs equal to, or better than Collingwood.

What a dud team.

You have:

- Won alot of unimportant games without winning grand finals (therefore rendering this statistic pointless. Actually, its a quite embarassing statistic for you...so much toil for zero reward).

- You make three points about having great and numerous supporters. Why couldn't that have been one point? Doesn't matter anyway because this in no way changes the fact you have failed to win premierships.

- You have lots of money....which you have failed to put to good use considerng your lack of premierships.

What a great club. I can definately see what all the fuss it about.

Sucessful ways to to prove your point by using statistics:

Pick an arbitratry starting point that 'proves' your theory. Odd numbers, such as 47, help immensely.

Your post was a load of shyte ..success in a sporting contest is measured in the ammount of victories ..not how well supported the team is and how financial , choking in grand finals should be regarded as a bad thing ..not something to boast about .
