Round 1 will be played Sat at Jindera, apparently they were unable to secure a ground with Albury and Lavy playing at home the next day.

Haha enlighten me... What whispers would you be referring to? Or is this something made up to try get a reaction? Along with his brother, Luke has been up north for the past month, but is back now and would expect a clearance to be already in the works...

There are no rumour regarding this, Shilgy will be in the saints jumper this season. and dont be surprised if a one Brandon Mathews will be next to him. They are pretty close and i am having a quiet side bet that he may end up there.

From what i understand they are just trying to build a half decent team to get some finals action. Talking to some of the players, they are not expecting a premiership (although it would be nice), but just to play finals.

I would say they are pushing for a premiership in the next FEW years, but are not expecting overnight success. But just to become a more successful club in the future. As most clubs aim to be.

In terms of spending coin, i wouldnt be surprised if the figure they are spending is alot lower then what everyone thinks it is.

Very True and well said although its common knowledge that Mckimmie is on big dollars i would reckon about the 900 mark, Glanville i know was on around the 450, story would be on good, guest would have gone for 300plus, there would be no change out of 70 grand i reckon, you might say bullshit about Mckimmie but there is almost 40 grand gone in 4 players thats with story on about the 500 mark. then you got yhe other 12 odd recruits that i bet my ass on are not there for a coke and a pie.

I think you'll find that there wont be 12 senior recruits, and there has been a fair amount of hype with regard to some of the recruits with some handy players that already play at the club Boultons, Livermore, Scott etc that some of these new players and recruits will find it a struggle to get a 1st grade game.

I think they have the potental to be on what Jimmy the jumper said with the bonus structures that may (or may not) be in place.
the only one that jumps out is glanville's estimate.. i dunno i would think no more the $400 ..?

PeterGriffin, i see where you are coming what your saying about your losses, being only really elliott and thornycroft being senior departures, although thornycroft is the only really loss, as if he keeps fit, he is the best fullback you guys have. elliott on the other hand is a soft sheepdog, and with the recruits and the toughness that eddy will expect, he would struggle to get a game.
i think you will fing guesty is on a fair wage, more than you are letting on, or know about. being a mate of mine, he is doing very well out there at bb saintland. as for the likes of azz livermore, with crows chasing him last year, saints had to go close to matching their offer to keep him. so i think you will find that the club is paying quite a lot of money for their players, recruits and the rest.

went reasonably well some good signs although a lot of rustiness which is to be expected. Good to see some of the young guys get in and have a dip. Looking forward to next weekends serious hit out against Coolamon down at Coolamon. Bus trip home should be good as well if some of us can stay awake for it
