tottally agree... i think the dogs bit ahead of themselves if they think they a top 3 material considerin the losses. unless they know all the people that left will b bak. make no mistake they will be handy but top 3?

i think the paper was close to the mark!

Interesting to note that people still think Jindera are a top3 chance even with the advertised losses.. Strange especially considering the paper experts picked them to finish 6th...

Yeah I think your right RHG. The exciting thing for Jindera followers though is that altho the have lost some quality locals and some others from their flag team, all those players are expected back at Jindera eventually in the coming years because the majority of them have gone into O&M to throw thier hats into the ring and see if they can cut it at a higher standard, which i reckon is great for the league and Jindera. Others not from the area originally have gone back to thier homes clubs which is also good because no doubt they can speak very highly of their achievments in the hume league and at Jindera in particularly. Whilst I agree that the Dogs might be a little off the pace this year (probably in that second pack chasing Osb & Cul) I think the future looks very bright for the hounds :thumbsu:. While im at it, those clubs in that chasing pack and im talking Jindera, Holbrook, R/W, Lockart and Howlong should be very excited because the way the draw works and the finals series ANY little slip-up by Osb or Cul opens the door for these clubs in the chasing pack. Whilst Osb and Cul deserve their favoutism at the moment I think the door is wide open for up to any of 7 clubs to finish top 2 and maybe make a grand final. And as we all no - anything is possible under the pressure of what a grand final brings. Should be a great year in the HFL so sit back and enjoy country footy followers :thumbsu:

I also hope that BB saints can be at least competitive this year as after so many years near as the bottom it wouldnt be bad to see. I think Osborne would be favourite as whilst Culcairn are consistant they dont dominate teams in the way Osborne do with no disrespect to Cul. Although i do hope these two teams come back to be closer to the pack as it will make the year a hell of a lot more interesting.
Matches of round 1:
Holbrook v Jundera
Osborne v Lockhart
But round 2 will have a big clash of Jindera v Culcairn. This is where we will see how far they have dropped from last year.

Will be a good chance for Hume League followers to see 2 of the predicted top 6 sides go at it on Friday night at Albury Sports Ground with Holbrook and Jindera due to lock horns at 7.30pm. Been a lot of talk of both Jindera and Holbrook being unknown qualities for 09 and it will be a rare chance to see Hume League sides play under lights. With no other games on hopefully a few get along for a look. I know the Holbrook boys are very keen and looking forward to the challenge of coming up against the reigning premier.

Well said Big Al i know the Jindera boys are also jumping out of there skin for Friday night. Should be a great matchup.

Have you two blokes thought about a career in marketing?

BB Saints should rack up another win next week, especially when you see the inclusion of Trent "roughhead" cooper, whilest he may lack the talent of his more respected peers, he will always give at least 50 %

no doubt. eyes will be on jack northam this weekend. hasnt played for 3 yrs yet kicked 6 in the 2s and had 30-40 possessions against a strong backline. he's raw but his potential has no limit. he could be anything. keep an eye on him to make an immediate impact in the 1s for bb

Nothing against the bb saints they played some good footy and will be a better team this year, but the crows were missing 5 of there better players with a full forward, forward flanker, and 3 midfielders. The crows had something like 7 plays from the age of 15-18 with 5 of them playing their first senior games.
