... and it has been the greatest life-choice I have ever made.

Super Mario Kart, Super Mario All Stars, Super International Cricket.... oh the memories.

Anyone still have one/play it? I'm looking to get NBA Give 'n Go as well as Donkey Kong Country and my life will pretty much be complete.

What exactly does that do?

You copy ROMs (like those you'd load in an emulator) onto an SD Card, put the SD Card into the Everdrive and then stick that into your SNES and load those games via a menu. I have the N64 version and it's brilliant. There are two different ones for the SNES due to all of the special chips they put inside SNES carts for games like Starfox so read up about the capabilities of each before deciding which one you want.

U.N. Squadron is praised as a side scrolling shooter.

Nice one, I've been wanting one for a while now but haven't seena price I'm comfortable paying. Out of curiousity, how much did you pay for it?

Going to get a Mega Everdrive how much was postage?

I bought my Everdrive64 from a different guy who seems to have stopped selling them. I just went through the checkout process (without paying) on the linked store for a Super Everdrive and it was $5 shipping with registered airmail. Seems reasonable.

$250 for snes, controllers, 6 games (3 games being 'classics'

There were cheaper ones on ebay but the guy I got it off is a collector, loves/cleans consoles, had about 120 games. Lets you play/test all games etc.

I'd rather pay a little more so didnt get one which was just found in a shed and chucked on ebay.

Still got my old SNES (as well as my original PS1, N64, PS2, PS3 as well as a console I don't know the name of my parent's bought when I was about 4 or 5 - it's brown and the controller was a bulky square thing with a joystick).

One day, I'm going to buy a glass cabinet and stick them all inside - will show it off to my kids and grand kids one day when they laugh at how 'ancient' video game technology was 'back in my day' :D

Sounds like an Atari controller.

I just found it - got curious and did a bit of snooping. It is the Emerson Arcadia 2001 (released in 1982)

I seem to recall they bought it second hand at a garage sale sometime in the early 90s.

Super Mario All Stars and International Cricket were my bread and butter. I'd skip DKC and go for DKC2, it's the BEST platformer on the SNES

I downloaded a SNES emulator a couple of years ago and downloaded all the games I had as a kid. All the usual games already mentioned plus Super Metroid and Street fighter 2. Was great. N64 is worth it too.

I discovered the virtual console on the Wii a few years ago. I pretty much had all the classics from the SNES back then (DK1, DK2 & DK3 were taken off due to a dispute between parties and there is no way I'm unloading them from my Wii now).

I still have my SNES and the games on still rank as some of the finest games I have ever played. Super Mario Kart, Super Mario World, Yoshi's Island, Star Fox, and of course, A Link to the Past. Sim City is also a riot on the SNES!

I turned down the opportunity to buy a snes about a year ago for $20 with Mario kart and super Mario bros ( the one that had super Mario 1-4 if I recall correctly) and 2 controllers from the salvos on Hampton street because it didn't have a power adaptor ( could have got one at dick Smith for another $20) I still hate myself because the next day when I decided I should get it anyway it was gawn.

My mum also threw away our colecovision when I was about 15 because we didn't play it any more. Actually now I think about it that makes me more sad. Why would you just throw such a treasure away!?
