I think most would be interested, but you would need to find out how much exactly before asking ppl. Where does player sponsorship money go to? Is there a cut off date? Maybe try ringing the club for info. This would be very hard to organise....but if you or anyone else is willing to organise it its a great idea!

I'll do what I can PC but live a fair distance away [Phillip Island]. i have thought of starting a supporter group here too.

Id be in it to i dont know if i would be able to make it to meetings etc cos i have school and work but may donate a membership. .About the player sponsorship thing it depends on who it is and how much money i will have to pay.

Keep us informed PC we must do whatever we can to keep them alive. Time is an issue for many of us, but we may all be able to help according to our own needs, I am going to try and buy another membership as a gesture of support. i would support the idea of us sponsoring a player.

I am the poster formerly known as "truebeliever"...it is great to find you all here....the new website for the club is awful, it is terrible for us not to have our say...can remember some interesting debates on the old "to boo or not to boo" subject, and some fun chats after our great wins (we did have some didnt we?

Hello to all the old buddies, Curly, Hahn, Larry, Chicago... but haven't seen anything from Top Dog..could he actually be studying??

A while ago it was mentioned that Mr Top Dog Snr delisted internet access from the Top Dog kennel due to some indifferent scholastic form in 2001. Consequently Top Dog only gets online occasionally at present.

Re junior member - you can go into your profile and change it (but you may need 50 posts or something before the field opens up to allow it).

Welcome to BigFooty.

They're called avatars and there was a thread in the Computer board the other day about how they work.

I'm one of the lazy who just can't be bothered.

Hello there truebeliever.....er.....still_believe..... My poor head can't cope with name changes, lol. We were just talking about you the other day, glad you have caught up with Bigfooty. The AFL have obviously decided that club forums are too dodgy but we all like this one. The more the merrier. LONG LIVE THE MIGHTY DOGGIES!!!!!

What a pleasant surprise to see you here! You certainly will add to our happy (though somewhat sad at the moment) family. I mentioned in an earlier thread about those of us from the other now-departed sites getting together on here like old times. I can't wait to meet everyone on my visit to Melbourne next month. If only the lovely Miss Curly could get down to Melbourne to join the party!

I might even volunteer to tutor TopDog for free during my month in Melbourne so he'll be allowed to post again! He's a fantastic Bulldog loyalist!

Hope to see you at the Collingwood match. I might have further news for BF Doggie supporters about my arrival at Colonial that day, but something has to be finalised regarding a pleasant surprise for us and the club. I'll let everyone know if the "surprise" goes ahead when I can.

If ur going to skydive into the stadium make sure the roof is open.
;)

I have been able to find out that supporters off the north board have sponsored Drew Petrie for this season. It cost them around $1,700 for the sponsorship. They had 20 or so people putting in.Benefits included are things like a photo, jumper, tickets to club functions,2 grandfinal tickets should your club make it and things like that.If ours was around the same mark and we got about 20 or 30 people to offer there support it would not cost that much.We could even donate the benefits back to the club for them to auction off or something like that.Anyone interested?

Yes - You're on the ball - Thats some good work there. Donate things like the jumper and stuff to Les Twentymen and let him distribute it how he wants ;)

lol :D No, nothing THAT dramatic. It hopefully will help publicise the club and its supporters in a good light and induce others to join as paid up members. I'll post a separate thread if I get confirmation. Fingers crossed.:p

I hope this means you've won big at Vegas and can fund the club for the the remainder of the season :) .

And take us all out to dinner at Dimattina's to celebrate ;) .

Just to let you know...

I will be re-submitting my proposal to the club next week. I will re-type it and re-word it and send it off over the week and cross my fingers, toes, what ever that we can get something going.

Then maybe a lot of the other ideas can fall within this group and we might have something going...

I think we have large enough numbers here to atleast get this off the ground, what do you all think?

Me win big in Vegas???? lol I gave up going there last October, Curly! Could have saved the club with the money I lost! But I'll make up for it with my winnings at Crown next month..... home sweet home! :D

Dinner at Dimattina's? Sounds like a good idea, eh PC?;)

22days till blastoff!

I'd be in it.

how much does the club make from fees for reserved seats? We got them the first year but not since due to $. if they were getting a big % i'd think of getting them.

An option for anyone who can afford it is donating a membership which is given to kids who can't afford one. Could be a good thing to do to try and encourage more supporters rather than us just spending more per person.
