Most of us are supporting the coach and the team in the same way we always have: pointing out things that may be wrong (each in their own way), and applauding that which is going right. The only difference is that there are some that think it's heretical to suggest any poor performance might have something to do with the coach. Bag the players as much as you like, but dare to point out that obvious game plan confusion in an adjustment period is costing us, is somehow unfair? Apparently we should give Buckley 10 years before we expect success. That's despite him inheriting a team that just won 20 out of 22 games. We certainly all gave Mick 10 years without complaining, I didn't hear a peep from anyone till after 2009 Wink. We are in our premiership window and expect the team to be challenging. There will be an adjustment period in the early part of the season, but it is not unfair to expect that once this is over we become serious challengers again (as long as our bad luck with injuries does not continue). Those who want to sit back and accept this year as a development year are certainly not on the same page as the club. I'm sure Buckley, Eddie, Maxwell and the rest of the players are all after a flag this year, not in 10 years time. Demand success, not mediocrity. Isn't that the cry of the old anti-MM brigade?

If we are struggling late this season, with only the 3 long term injuries (talk that Krak may even be back at some stage), then they will not be an excuse. There's no free pass on this year unless bad luck continues. Three injuries and only 1 to a key player is not enough to wreck a season. The Hawks had worse last year and ended up about level with us after we had one of the best home and away seasons ever.
