If we don't get a decent KP during the trade period......

Re: Everitt

With the numerous threads circling at the moment about our need for a KPF i thought maybe Andrejs could be that guy..he's tall enough, is a very nice kick of the footy, can take a solid grab, quick enough off the mark, reads the play well..the only thing he would need imo to be successful in this position is a bit more beef, but considering he has gained 10kg since being at the club i don't see this as being a problem. Thoughts?

He has the ability, size, skills, speed and athleticism to play in a lot of positions for us and a move to the forward line will happen sometime I'm sure.

He did suffer from the 2nd year blues and it might be easier to keep him as a back man for another season. It might all depend if we can get regular games from Tom Williams though.

I'd actually prefer to see Everitt work on his endurance and play him in a "Goodes" type role as a midfielder who floats anywhere.

Would be able to push back and support defence or push forward and take a grab.

With his height would be a nightmare matchup for oppositions.

Very true, I'd be over the moon with either outcome for everitt - power foward or tall strond midfielder in the goodes mould.

I was of the same thought but having Tiller play FB with Morris and Williams taking the 1 and 2 Forwards, and having Lake Play at CHF and even if you wanted to Everitt/Grant playing at FF.

If we do get O'Keefe i would like to see Murphy play more back and even in the Middle at times.

FB Morris Tiller Callan
CHB Gilbee Williams Murphy
CHF O'Keefe Lake Hahn
FF Harbrow Everitt Aker

having the likes of Johno coming of the bench, Addison and even getting some game time into Grant.

This may be worthy to try in the Nab Cup. alot of If's and but's though.

I like Williams down back. He looks like developing into a the type of player who can stop the opposition power forward and run off and create at the same time. All premiership teams have cracking defences. Hawthorn is a bit of an anomoly but they have strcutured their whole gameplan around helping out their weak defence by using the entire rest of the team. However Calrkson knows that little gimmick isnt going to last forever and they are busilly shopping aorund for decent key defenders, dont worry about that.

I cant think of any quality forwards who were 'manufactured'. All the guns are naturals who played as forwards as juniors. There is a craft to it - any lumoix can wander down and take a grab occasionally, but playing as a permanent forward is a different kettle of fish.

Wonderful post:thumbsu:

You might need to dumb it down for the simpletons on this thread, Stef.
