Crocker isnt the answer. Midfield coach thats getting **** all out of the midfield he coaches. Ben10 has improved, but who else?

Clean out for mine and get an outsider in with a crystal clear gameplan, someone who will drop players when not doing the fundamentals and a coach that isnt afraid to lambaste the playing group or individuals when needed.

And Hinkley coached within some unsuccessful regimes but shone when given the main job.

Imo Crocker showed a hell of a lot when he was given the interim job but was never taken seriously as a candidate because JB et al were besotted with an untried and disinterested Buckley.

I wouldn't be against giving Crocker the keys and a 1 year contract to test the water. This would depend on Brad tendering his resignation which I don't want to occur unless we're clearly not going to achieve 2x finals.

Can see why you think that but I think he may be constrained by the lead of the head coach. Especially under Scott he may be especially subservient to be extra respectful of their respective roles considering he was a candidate for the same job.

In 2009 he took a completely demoralised side and had them immediately more defensive yet potent against a still strong dogs outfit and the reigning premiers of the time. To also unseat the top of the ladder team was a hell of a good achievement with the same playing group.

I know it was a small sample but the structure (especially vs St Kilda) felt very tight at the time. Like Crock had symplified things and players immediately understood their roles.

Not saying he could work miracles but I think he's worth a shot.

Let's not forget Pagan was U19s coach under Kennedy and Schimma and himself said people wrote him off as 'only able to coach kids'. Maybe we're sitting on another Denis?

Just couldn't see it happening, unless there was severe $$$ constraints due to paying out Scott's contract. In which case I wouldn't want the club to cull him if it hurt that bad financially.

How sad that it has come to this. The most elevating thought is the possibility that our coach is replaced. I never thought it would happen to us. It's a Richmond thing surely. Right?
Well not anymore.
I wanted to believe in Scotty so badly but I just can't anymore. It's too late in the piece to blame the laziness and inconsistency of the group on lack of experience.
This is a cultural problem. And a huge one because the coach refuses to admit this.
We have a talent and fitness level similar to Port. I really believe that. The difference is they turn up every week. every quarter. Even when they are down, their work rate and tackling pressure stop them from being smashed in a single quarter. Unlike us. We were down, we go into free fall.
In short, their culture is massively superior to ours. Their culture is now Paganesque.they are fanatical
We have three very big problems.
1. A coach who has never imposed fanaticism on the list and is seemingly incapable of doing so.
2. An administration so clueless that they would give such a coach an irresponsibly long contract
3. A small group of enormously talented seniors who will not outlast the coach's contract.
We need a miracle, folks.
We need Walsh to stand up and deliver it. We need it delivered before the expansion clubs fill out and establish their eras.
Or else our 15 year stay in the wilderness will become more or less permanent.

I guess this is the week that Scott either shuts up his critics or accepts defeat.

Defeat will be if patches of play from last week start showing, where North players let their men run wild and dictate play. He hasn't been able to instruct his stubborn players well enough. If they run wild and expose us, it will be hard to stick by scott.

Swallow did well last week and clearly had intent to win it, he understood what it took.

Everyone needs to lift up their intensity and play smart football. If not, they have done nothing to show they deserve finals

Brad will never take us to top 4. It's a fact that the club will realise eventually, I'm sorry but to defend him after losing to Brisbane is just a deadest joke. He isn't the right guy for the job, our minimal improvement is only due to our younger players getting older and the addition of NDS. The biggest problem remains the refusal to reward and punish player performances regardless of name.
