Immigrants who bag our country

That reminds me of the time I spent a week in the south of France in a little village. Bloody foreigners. Didn't speak any English at all. All they spoke was French!

Foreigners in a foreign country. Who knew? :D

i know what you mean brother why is that?

they can do it they try first i thought they were just saying it in english really fast then i thought maybe they are smarter in europe and by brain doesunt think as fast as they speak then i realised it was a different language all together why not just make it english everywhere that would be easier

Yeah I can imagine some Koori's standing on the beach a few hundred years ago saying to each other: "There goes the neighbourhood!"

they probably be right too brother what has the white man added to theyre life

i know there is progress but is theyre life more fun now or then i dint reckon now especially for the aborigines in tasmania that would be pretty bad to of been one of them

Pommies are the worst. Everything is better back in England.

Well go back there FFS.

Hi Mum and Dad!:D

I remember meeting a group of poms and irish backpackers and they moaned about EVERYTHING in australia. THis really annoyed me because they insisted on going to a $5 all you can eat chinese place which was always going to be bad. They compared it to chinese food in the uk saying theirs was better. This is just NOT true

I guess moving anywhere you experience a 'culture shock' and your first response is to compare to your mother country. I did it in london often enough because i really missed the yummy cheap food you get in oz. Anyway bitching and moaning to the locals about the country YOU'RE visiting is surely going to piss everyone off...

!

My step cousin is english and he's visited australia many times but maintains the food in england is better. Even though his friends who have been to australia tell him this is not the case. Nothing wrong with being a little parochial about your country. ;)

Immigrant: "A person who comes to live in a foreign country"

Our ancestors might be immigrants, but I'm no immigrant. This country is not foreign.

Ask the Indigenous peoples and see if they agree with you.

The other point is, I whinge and whine about a lot of things, why should this privalge be restricted to me and those like me. Why can't others have a point of view about the way we do things, are we that scared of 'them'?

dude i understand irony i worked in the prison laundry for 3 months i done lots of irony we had big machines for that not the little ones i see nowadays in kmart these must of been very old i thunk at the time

murray, not all idiots are trolls, some are just really dumb... srsly.

What is it with foreigners who move to Australia, but constantly bag the place, saying we do everything worse than where they came from?

I've had it happen twice this week, but today this German woman came into work carrying on about how much better Germany is - better foods, better supermarkets, better fashion, better 'autobahn'...dead set if the place is better MOVE BACK THERE!

I'm not saying everything to do with Australia is great, but I reckon we're pretty lucky.

Is it a widespread issue or have I just run into a couple of bad ones this week?

I say ship them all off!

Anyone who bags the country they live in should be moved on, thats inc. people born here.

but where would you send them brother? would other countries want them if they just bag the country they live in/

maybe send them to countries which dont like criticism like saudi arabia

While there are some 'immigrants' who speak negatively about Australia, the majority do not.

Xenophobic discussions like this only lead to someone getting hurt.

As for immigrants not learning English, I've lived in plenty of foreign countries and many expats including Australians don't bother in any way to learn the local language, why should they be regarded any different?

Well, I can fully understand why you were in jail

So where did you learn your version of what I presume is some form of English?

I'm an immigrant and I'll bag Australia for everything it deserves to be bagged for :thumbsu:. I do the same with my country of origin or any other country I visit actually.

I also praise Australia for everything that deserves praise, just like I do with my country of origin and yep, any other country I visit.

It's called having an opinion. Some of you guys should seriously grow up.

Excellent post :thumbsu:

I guess some immigrants are just confused why they couldnt be happy in their own country when they lived there, so they travel to a foreign land 'searching for happiness' and dont find it. Habitual whingers. All these bullshit questions on the citizenship test should be scrapped for and essay on WHY they want to live here.
