Kraks set shot in the last (I think) had the last five possessions in the chain being five of the seven. All bar Impey and I think Amon.

how good is it to have krak back and focused on his footy!

Emma Quayle did a good piece on the record sharing.

Port Adelaide's Magnificent 7
There were only two other indigenous players on the Port Adelaide list when Brendon Ah Chee was drafted there almost four years ago. On Saturday night he was one of seven, playing in the same side. Port Adelaide's season finished four weeks short of where Ah Chee and his teammates hoped it would but helping equal an AFL record was something he was proud to be part of. "I'll remember this game forever because of that," Ah Chee said. "It feels special. It's something we'll have for the rest of our lives."

Ah Chee has joined the recruiting team ;)

Ah Chee has a teenage brother playing well back home in Perth and sure to be picked up in this year's draft. He has no idea where Callum will end up, but knows that if he makes it to the Power he will be at a strong, supportive club that will help him do all the things he can do. "I've been talking my brother up everywhere I go so hopefully we can get him here but we'll see how we go," he said. "When I first came it was just me, Chad and Danyle Pearce but even then the club was a huge support of us indigenous boys, and the more we get here the better. That's my message to all the Aboriginal boys out there, come to Port Adelaide because you will really feel like it's home."

I think we've finally found a stat which might stump Ron The Bear. Longest series of possessions by indigenous players playing for the same team?

That is a pretty nice story by Emma. AhChee sounds such a respectful lad and loving it at Port. Love what he said. I was thinking the same. We have such a great bunch and a really good support network here. And these boys are so natural. We could become the club of choice for more fellas. Would love the younger AhChee here too. AhChees x2 and Grays ;) X3 perhaps once Tom matures.

I have no hope of answering that!

May have occurred in 2003 when Fremantle's team contained 7 indigenous players in 8 different games. Gold Coast also had 7 in R5 this year.

But also bear in mind what Portia said in the podcast about inclusion in administration and coaching- Port Adelaide still have a long way to go before we're a truly inclusive football club.

Maybe it will be possible to split our first round pick again, send one part to Gold Coast and use the other to draft Callum Ah Chee. I think a few clubs will be wary of drafting him now with his connection to Port.

I doubt it, Joel Selwood had two older brothers already in the league when he was drafted, but he ended up at a third club.

Yeah I agree, I don't think it will have any impact on the decision of other clubs. If anything Brendon's late season form might actually bump up Callum's draft position a spot or two.

From Quayle's article - Ah Chee's closing comment "That's my message to all the Aboriginal boys out there, come to Port Adelaide because you will really feel like it's home."

Shows how successful the great work done over the last 5 years or so by Paul Vandenbergh and his team have done, as well as our 50-60 year history of having indigenous players at the club in reasonable numbers as well as other community work done in those years, and even the odd player 50 years before that.

It was good to see.

For as long as I've watched the game typically the only players I enjoyed watching from clubs other than Port were Indigenous. Always hated North, especially when Carey was there, but still watched them only to see Bryon play off the half back flank.

Many stats around that show how far the odds are against the country's indigenous compared to others in many aspects of life. AFL representation for percentage of population is probably one of the few where they show a clear superiority. Would be a beautiful day when such stats wouldn't be worth highlighting.

Missing one brother from that pic :(

PORT Adelaide will use an indigenous recording of its club song in the AFL Indigenous Round — a league first.
And the Power will also play the indigenous version of “Power to Win” when the Port Adelaide team runs onto Adelaide Oval for the home clash with West Coast on May 21, the weekend before the indigenous round clash with Melbourne in Alice Springs.
