Those damn Gen X’s

horrid gen

The traditional yearning for a benevolent employer who can provide a job for life also seems to be on the wane… In particular, they want to avoid ‘low-level jobs that aren’t keeping them intellectually challenged.’”

Meet Generation X, Financial Times, 1995

Bloody boomers

“A few [35-year-old friends] just now are leaving their parents’ nest. Many friends are getting married or having a baby for the first time. They aren’t switching occupations, because they have finally landed a ‘meaningful’ career – perhaps after a decade of hopscotching jobs in search of an identity. They’re doing the kinds of things our society used to expect from 25-year-olds.”
Not Ready for Middle Age at 35, Wall Street Journal, 1984

My Grandparents Gen... man how bad were they

in youth clubs were young people who would not take part in boxing, wrestling or similar exercises which did not appeal to them. The ‘tough guy’ of the films made some appeal but when it came to something that led to physical strain or risk they would not take it.”
Young People Who Spend Too Much, Dundee Evening Telegraph, 1945

Anyway the point is, youth bashing has been a thing for centuries.
You just didn’t know about it because a. You had no internet and less means for people to express these opinions. B. They whinged about you when you were too busy wasting your lives doing drugs and smoking.

This thread is amusing though. Long may millenials continue to troll Boomers online

You think its our generation making the movies? LOL

:'(:'(:'(??? You guys sit around and sook about millennials food choices as if someone else eating an avo somehow offends you.

For what it's worth. I think I'd like to have a beer with you hahaha.

I have a co worker in her 50s, lives alone and guess what she has 4 times a day for lunch? Avo on toast... Dunno how she stomaches it every day, but anyway.

I’m lucky to eat it once a year, but nah, only millenials eat it and that one time I had it clearly ruined any chances to afford housing for life. Shameful

I don't remember avocado's being anywhere near as popular back in the 80-90's, but deli sandwiches often had this noxious weed in it.

I agree that this thread is hilarious, but why so many posts to say that you're triggered?

I'm an Xer myself and we didn't say and do anywhere near the level of hilariously absurd & insane shit that Millennials do these days when we were their age. I'll concede lack of internet played a part in people keeping the crazy to themselves more because if you said/did a lot of what Millennials think is perfectly normal, you'd be laughed at and shunned by society instead of being praised for being 'so brave'.

Maybe that’s the issue with the older gen

shun people rather than accept, that’s how society should be!!

Nice sustained melt.

It's interesting, isn't it. We have a generation that loudly proclaims acceptance and inclusiveness. And yet is utterly obsessed with labeling people according to their sexual preference. So obsessed that it is necessary to invent a new one every week.

Call me old fashioned, but I don't find that inclusive at all. Because really accepting and inclusive people couldn't give a flying rat **** who does what to whom.

I suppose it is consistent with other aspects of their bizarre world view. It is after all the same group of people who are deluded enough to incessantly wring their hands, rend their garments, and point the finger of blame over climate change (all the while displaying an astounding ignorance of the subject); and while continuing to be the most self indulgent, greedy, energy and resource guzzling group of people in the history of the species.

I’ll pay that

I hate the whole labelling thing myself.. One can enjoy both masculine and feminine hobbies without calling themselves gender fluid for example.

however, note that the labels aren’t meant to be malicious.

Like the humble urinal, we older gens are like relics of a bygone era where men and women were recognized as biologically different. :$

Didn’t realise us blokes were physically incapable of pi**ing in a toilet.

You sit down to piss? :D

I was going to type, 'defend this shit!' in the last post but thought, nah no one would defend that shit. :$

Anyway, this will last about two weeks, until women get sick of sitting on piss-covered toilet seats.

I was going to type, 'defend this s**t!' in the last post but thought, nah no one would defend that s**t. :$

You realise you can stand to piss in a toilet yes?

What would it matter regardless? It’s pissing ffs. Man this is a petty thread lol

that’s actually the kind of thing I would expect a teenager to laugh at.

Ps You clearly have shit aim

Anyway, I’ll leave you old folk to sulk about how the world changes.

You'll grow up one day. Probably.

Then you'll understand the true commonality among the youth of each succeeding generation.

After they grow up, they look back on their teenage and young adult years and say "Geez, I can't believe I was such an utter knob."

It's a story as old as time.

200M to replace every urinal in a Govt building with individual cubicles when they have a massive homeless problem in Portland is some next level crazy shit, but what would 'an old person' know.
