G7 leaders summit is due be held in Canada mid 2025

Technically trump as a convicted felon and sex pest wouldn't be eligible for an an entry visa to Canada (or Australia for that matter)

Do you think his invitation will be rescinded now on the back of his trade war?

Or will they let him front up and make a campaigner of himself?
Either scenario will be entertaining at least.:D

true leaders dont boycott other leaders they stand up to them. Plus they will no doubt take him to task over his comments on Panana, Greenland, Denmark, Canada, Mexico and Colombia.

For this reason Trump wont go. He will PR his way into stating its a waste of his time. Those countries just want to bitch and moan about the USA.

No, you're crazy if you think that will happen in America in 2025 or at any time in Trump's Presidency or any other Democratic or Republican Presidency in the future , plenty wrong with America but that is never happening.

Just like the the last Trump/Republican Presidency the apocalypse you were claiming never happened. I thought you at least had a fully functioning brain but with this kind of talk I'm not so sure.
Open your ****ing eyes you fool. Its already happening.

Kept reminding Crow till I die about the historical impact of tarrifs... but keeps telling me Trump does things differently.

Firstly the Trump threat would make the other countries bendover as he is awesome... well guess he got that one wrong.

Even if they do retaliate, the American consumer will be better off as they will be paying less income tax.. which we know won't get close for most every day Americans. Don't worry though as the billionaires will be better off...

Nah, he merely plays the man. Didnt he try and write off your argument by doubting you know more about tarrifs and the economy than Trumps guys.

The problem with this narrative is its not economic managers and experts advising Trump on this matter. Tariffs are Trumps idea and his alone. There isnt an economic expert let alone a solitary business leader on the planet that would have advised Trump that this was a good idea. Trump is well known for being incredibly stubborn. So the experts he has trying to spin any favourable narrative towards the idea are merely making stuff up or using statistics out of context.

But as some people on here have suggested, is this a smoke and mirrors exercise. While we are watching the tarrifs and the affect it has on the price of groceries, is the broligarchs and the Trump family buying up USA based corporations or shares who deal in the goods Canada, China and Mexico would produce to bring into the USA. As someone very wise in movies said once 'follow the money'

He can do it remotely from Mar-A-Lago - **** him.

Can’t remember in his first term, did he leave the US?
He was an ass every time he did. But most countries won’t allow convicted felons in. I can’t imagine he’d be invited anywhere - except for here (if Mutton gets in) or North Korea and Russia.

Yep correct.

And where’s this income tax thing coming from? Trump talking about trade patterns from 150 years ago is lala land. It’s not today’s economic reality with globalisation involving countries specialising in what they do best (Oz -minerals, agri, education, tourism etc). Everyone gets richer by specialisation.

Surely the amount raised in income tax is way more than tariffs will raise? And the $$ raised by tariffs last time were over 90% expended compensating farmers for lost agricultural sales anyway..no reason that won’t occur again

The other thing with income tax is it’s a progressive tax. You pay a higher % the more you earn. So getting tax to zero again massively favours the higher income earners whilst lower income earners would save much less tax but have inflated costs of consumption.

What do you mean by capitulated?
Agree to allow Trump to make Canada the 51st state?
What do you actually mean. Facts please.
Capitulated..meaning they will back right off, agree to what trump wants which is a watertight border to stop illegals and drugs entering the US as the tariffs he is hitting Canada with will cripple them considering how much of Canada's GDP is made up from exporting to the US

Btw, you have any idea what Canada already tariffs US dairy at?

The Sex Pest thing was only proven in a Civil Court. He hasn't been convicted of any sexual crimes in a criminal court. I doubt civil proceedings have any weight as far as entry to a foreign country is concerned.

He has, however, been found guilty of 34 felonies relating to the Stormy Daniels payments.

It's interesting watching the political scene in the USA as a foreigner. Pretty much looks like those who voted for a better economy and cheaper cost of living, instead have got a trade war, a more expensive cost of living and an arrogant alienation of Canada, Mexico, Europe, Colombia and Panama. I also wonder if those who didn't want a women are getting what they were after too? It's pretty hard to act surprised. Everyone was well and truly warned in advance

Right on queue... Wall Street hit by the tarirr announcement...

I am willing to bet the broligarchs used it to short wall street. 100%. They knew it was going to happen, withdrew their money, let Wall Street take the hit and then i bet every dollar I have, they will buy up billions of dollars in stock. This is nothing more than a wealth distribution exercise and the goal is to get all the broligarchs filthy rich.

The power of tariffs

US Commerce not exactly happy with Trump's tariffs...

Of course not. Trump thinks that if they make foreign corporations untenable in the USA, USA business will take over making the USA great again. The problem with this though is everything will get more expensive to counter the wage difference. Things are built in different countries now because of market forces making it cheaper. It will fail. Economists dont see any path forward using this strategy. Personally I think Trump just thinks everyone will cave.

Why is Trump trying to wreck one of his biggest allies, Canada, when only 1% of the fentanyl into the US comes over the border from Canada and Canada has put in measures over recent months to reduce that further?
Do you think he is maybe just using the fentanyl as an excuse?

Well as usual EB is wrong and putting stuff out of context with tarrifs. They just continue to prove they dont understand. Those companies they were so quick to post about to prove tarrifs work all because they are considering creating offices and moving production to the states to avoid the tarrifs while they expand into the USA. What they have not bothered to even learn is Canada not only is going to place its own tarrifs on USA products greatly hamstringing USA production, Mexico looks like it will follow suit. Everything works two ways. At the same time, Canadians look like they will boycott US products. Canada is a self sufficient nation, the USA isnt. Not to the extent that it can manage all its industries. It needs international exports to sustain its industries. Trump runs the risk of countries avoiding outright US products. But again, those in the MAGA thread dont care about anyone else. They just laugh as it doesnt affect them.
