Wasn't the New York trip included as a kind of bribe to encourage participation?

They play a game against an amatuer side in the states but yeah Id imagine Eddie has them all up in 5 star hotels partying with strippers

I like it and hope it continues. The international exposure is good for both countries.

Making selections All Australian is important. The players seem to enjoy it.

Watching the All Blacks and Wallabies belt the tripe out of each other overnight, they seemed fully committed to me, not too much moaning about getting injured for club games.

Yawn! are you a kick and clap fan? Using the rugby union world cup is hardly a decent argument for world cups.

There is such a difference between IR and the Rugby WC final it's ridiculous.

I didn't even know we won last year... Can't remember if I watched it.

I actually really enjoy it. Gaelic is a really underrated sport and i love it when the two codes combine and put on a good contest. It's the only thing AFL players can represent their country in. watching the AA team is interesting however it might be a bit of over kill for a semi professional sport, last year we killed them so i'll revisit this if we get them again over there

'killed them' is stretching it. they were definitely in touching distance as they put in a late charge after we dominated early.

Yeah 'killing them' was probably a bit to much. They did keep in touch but we were pretty much in control most of the time

If nothing else it surely helps open up the Irish talent pool to AFL clubs.

Would rather this than SOO.

you realise the AFL told them to take it easy and let them come back in the 2nd half right? If we went on and flogged them as what was expected Ireland would well and truly be over IRS.

Haven't read this thread, but I don't know why so many people bitch about this concept. There has been some good contests of IR, and even when we win people bitch about it. If you don't like it than don't watch. I for one look forward to it, even though this year's team has no North representation.

Funny thing is, last time we flogged them, Ireland went the biff, then went crying when Johnson started throwing his weight around
