Yeah, but if you're in a gym currently you're not concerned about covid. The main transmission path is aerosol by a mile. Wiping it down to prevent covid is like pissing in bass Strait to raise the level.
I appreciate your point, but you've just slightly oversimplified the problem ahhaha

Truth be told, coming back to me of course (world revolves around me :drunk:) bitching about fans being used in gyms, thats the most likely way you would IMO to catch Covid.

Benches should be wiped down, nothing is more gross than sweat remaining on a bench. If its dry, Im not too fussed, not to mention I place a towel always on it. My gym gear goes straight into the wash after each workout. In any case the exercises I do on a bench, covid is likely to be sitting on my arse and back than anywhere else. :drunk:

Covid has also been a bitch for me in terms of hitting on girls at the gym. Here I am on the left. :drunk:

You can have a late night peaceful workout, but with sports there is usually that competitive edge and adrenaline rush you get.

I find it hard to unwind sleep if I watch sports late at night, like T20 cricket or EPL like after 11pm. :drunk:
Nothing worse than following Tottenham, them building up your hopes then they all come crashing down

Nothing worse than trying to sleep off a bad performance.
The worst is when you're all swimming and everyone has a lane to themselves- and all lanes are taken.

And someone walks in.

And you pray. And hope.

Dont you ******* dare. Go to someones else's lane

DONT....

No they ******* get in your lane mother f***er.
Lel, reminds me of 2/3s to 3/4 full trains, plenty of seats around but have to sit next to someone

I'd always make sure I'd sit next to a petite chick = more leg room lel

Found out the hard way as a young fella, never sit next to fellow big fellas
Had a newbies alert this week.

3 new guys come into the gym, the "expert" of the three is giving a masterclass of how to do each exercise. Nothing wrong in that, if in fact he knew what he was doing.

The fact that the two other guys had never been into a gym before and the "expert" is adding weight to each set they are doing, speaks volumes of his expertise.

The irony of all of this, is the one exercise you can go a bit heavy with terrible technique but still think you are strong without actually hurting yourself, ie bicep curls, they actually went light. Go figure.
Gotta protect them bicep tendons

Might train some arms tonight actually
I dont think I've ever asked, anyone, about "sets", period.

I'll just find something else to do.
As a young un coming up with some meh gym instructor program, I always only followed what the program said, so I'd wait around for machines (took a few years to work out which programs I did from certain trainers early days were decent, can say about only 2 out of the 5 or so trainers I used were any good, 1 guy called Pete wrote up the best ones, but he moved on)

But over the years I learned to adapt, nothing worse standing around not doing anything

That's one of the best things having a home setup though, can plan whatever you want to do and not be disturbed
Ive had more respect for 'roid users of the years having 'roid rage. Probably some newbie f**ked up his "temple" and he lost it.

Glad you mentioned slamming the weights on the pin-loaded machine. F**k me, I almost lost my sh*t today, when I got a jolt from the guy that did it. Newbie of course. What else would you expect.

I cant understand in 2021, how stupid people can be in the gym, in thinking from Day 1 (probably the first time in a gym) their mantra is go hard or go home. The number of newbies I see overload weights thinking thats the key to getting big. Ironically my fav time at the gym is after a lay off or resting for a few weeks, I always have gone in with light weights for every exercise, as you need to give your body time to re-acclimatize to training. With newbies, all jokes aside, they should be practicing form with almost no weight for the first week or two.

Basic etiquette? lol. Gyms have become like Thunderdome. No rules, every man for themselves.

Hang in there, by February it will be dead in the gym. Hell usually before the end of the 3rd week of January. The biggest mistakes newbies make is not asking a mate for advice about basic things of what to do. By mate, I mean someone who looks like they know how to workout properly and done it for a few years.

Hell, they dont even need a mate, there is 100s of youtube videos of how to educate yourself. There is even basic ones to make it less daunting than what it really is. As a newbie, just doing body weight exercises for 3 months, will get you awesome gains without picking up a single dumbbell.
I remember one day when I was 16 just starting out I was doing some assisted chin ups on the stack assisted chin/dip machine

Anyways, one day I got a bit ambitious and didn't have enough counterweight, so probably be about 50kgs on the stack or so, I was about 6"3 and 110kgs of puppy fat then and could only lat pulldown 90-100 pounds (40-45kgs) at the time, so was trying to assisted chin about 55-60kgs I guess

But yeah, didn't go well and I had to jump off at the bottom of the machine, and the thing flew up and made an almighty crunch

Gym owner was training at the time, boy he wasn't happy, lel.

People who drop or throw their plates down should have a special spot in hell, such a dumb thing to do (go to a CrossFit gym if you’re desperate to feel like a big swinging dick).

I think you should be wiping down benches in covid or not, making someone else is just gross behavior.

Guys in skins, no shorts.

Guys grunting on every ******* rep.

Reminds me why I don't come evenings usually.

I once saw a guy in a full skins outfit, no shorts or top. He was also overweight too.

It was priceless.

Small mercies I suppose.

I’m thoroughly convinced someone sold them on the performance benefits and they just assumed wearing them was enough but also that the performance benefits are doubled if you just wear them

I wear them to sleep on heavy leg days. I believe in them. :$
