Warm water is great for staying in longer without a rashie/wetsuit. It's also much better when the weather is mild as you don't get freezing cold in the water then have no way to warm up... if the water is cold in those scenarios then you have nothing to warm you up because there's no sun etc.Cold water is the best.
I remember the Qld premier during LD was bragging about their "warmer beaches" or some sh*t.
Er. Cool/cold water >> warm water. Who the fu** wants to swim in warm water when its stinking hot anyway???
Never underestimate the power of a walk for exercise and mental health.Had a great sesh at the beach this morning. Went for a walk- pier, walk on the beach, then walk/swam + kinda jogged IN the water.
Didnt just "splash" around and do nothing.
Will do it again tomorrow before the weather turns.
We’re back to working from home as of today. My evening ride home from the office was amazing for clearing my head and leaving the baggage of the day at the office.Never underestimate the power of a walk for exercise and mental health.
In a perfect world, I would wake up happily at 6am and go for a daily walk on the beach if I could.
Someone spoke to me yesterday, someone today. In all my years at all my gyms i could count on one hand the number of conversations i had with other gym goers.
Big can style head phones on, the whole time, im there for work not to socialise.
Yes a ride is good, so is running. I think its whatever activity that can help you mentally escape coupled with exercise that makes the difference. We’re back to working from home as of today. Might sound stupid, but as soon as you log off. Jump on the bike, ride half way to work and back again. We’re back to working from home as of today. My evening ride home from the office was amazing for clearing my head and leaving the baggage of the day at the office.

You should continue to do this until you get back to work physically.I actually got up this morning and did a ride (I usually commute both ways) just to help with routine.
Better still, just continue riding and avoiding working at all, lol.Might sound stupid, but as soon as you log off. Jump on the bike, ride half way to work and back again.
I read in someone’s book (can’t remember who) motivation comes and goes, results are built on discipline. I’ve found that to be completely true. You should continue to do this until you get back to work physically.
It might sound stupid, but I have a set routine so much so that I can go to the gym literally on autopilot.
Motivation has never been an issue for me. If I dont go its either headache/migraine or consecutive nights of lack of sleep. Occasionally I will have the mental health day, but its during this time where I will find myself at the gym.
I think the other important issue is that I find exercise rewarding in itself. Although returning back to the gym after a long lay off is one of the most challenging things I find hard to do. Which is why I make sure to get always at least one PUSH/PULL/LEGS cycle in each week. You can maintain strength easily and that in itself is rewarding.
TBH the first day, I would have played dumb and rode my bike into work if I was you and pretended as if you forgot.Nah, hed do too good a job and someone would realize how much better id gotten and get suss
Well no, cause I'm about 150km away from my gym atm.One of my fave insta gym bunnies posted about how stupid the gyms are with the new year/new me crew.
Any stories?
Gyms are very vacant at the moment.
Covid nerves getting to people I guess. Or maybe it's a reason to not get started? Or maybe holidays.
I'm going mornings and usually there would be a 7am influx and newbies - but they're not there.
